Virginia District 1 Softball Umpire Consultant Selected for World Series
Virginia District 1 would like to congratulate Mr. Danny Vines on being selected for the 2013 Little League Softball World Series in Portland, Oregon August 8th - 14th. Umpires are selected for a World Series after a lengthy and stringent selection process. Appointment as a member of an umpire crew for a World Series is the highest honor Little League Baseball and Softball can bestow upon an umpire, and selection means that these umpires have reached the highest level of proficiency and are considered among the best in the world. The men and women volunteering for these series come from 28 states, six countries, Aruba, Curacao, and Puerto Rico. Thank you Danny, and all District 1 umpires, for the great job that you do!

Abingdon Little League Ump Selected for Little League Majors Southeast Region Tournament

District 1 Little League would like to congratulate Mr. Jeb Stuart on being selected to umpire the 2013 Little League Majors Southeast Region Tournament in Warner Robbins, Georgia. Umpires were selected via a committee assembled by the Southeastern Region. Each umpire selected are volunteers throughout the Southeastern Region, which includes eight states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Congratulations Jeb and thanks to all of our umpires!

District 1 Little League would like to congratulate Mr. Bill Hill on his retirement! Bill has served for more than 32 years in Little League and without great volunteers like him; there would be no Little League. Thank you for the countless hours that you have spent providing our youth with the opportunity to enjoy our national pastime!
