2016 Jake Hardison Memorial Challenger Jamboree Packet Now Available
Jamboree Logo.jpg

The information and registration packet for the 25th Anniversary Jake Hardison Memorial Challenger Jamboree is now available! The Jamboree will be held on May 13-15, 2016 and is hosted once again by Azalea Little League (Virginia District 8) in Norfolk.

The concept for the Jamboree was started in 1992 by Virginia District 8 Administrator Jake Hardison to provide an event similar to the Little League World Series, but in a non-competitive environment. The event gives boys, girls, and adults with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball and socialize in a positive atmosphere. Known in years past as the Challenger Tournament and Fun Weekend (1992-2005) and the Little League Worldwide Challenger Jamboree (2006-2011), the Jamboree was renamed in Mr. Hardison’s honor after his passing in 2012.

The Jamboree will once again offer some of our traditionally popular events, such as the themed dance on Friday night (Luau), carnival, concessions, new activity zone, picnic on Saturday, and baseball games on Saturday and Sunday.

A new feature in this year’s packet is the ability to type in the information and send directly through an email. Thanks go to Bob Sottile, District Administrator of Virginia District 10, for his help in creating this feature.

Little League Challenger teams that want to participate will need to submit their rosters, Little League ID number and their event form on or before April 20, 2016. Like last year, the Jamboree will offer games in two divisions: Little League Challenger (age 4-19) and Senior Challenger (age 15-up).
