2008 - VA State Major Softball Tournament Final

District 11 Honaker Little League - wins the VA State Major Softball Tournament, defeating District 1 Elkton Little League in a double header final.

First game -   Honaker 4, Elkton 3

Second game - Honaker 2, Elkton 1

Spectators saw 18 innings of the best softball that has ever been played at Plaza Little League.

The first game lasted almost 3 hours 11 innings and tied for the longest game (by innings) that has ever been played at Plaza Little League.

In the second game, it was tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 6th - Elkton had runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs and did not score.  Honaker then scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 7th and held in the bottom of the 7th.

The first game also made history – according to Jake Hardison District Administrator it was the first time in Virginia Little League history (and possibly ever in Little League history) where all 4 bases were manned with female umpires.
