Current UYIFL News!! Coaches & Parents
Coaches will do weigh-ins in their own area and then summitt a roster with their boy's weights to the UYIFL for inspection and to keep on file.
There are a couple of boys that we are still trying to find teams for. We had a couple of coaches quit at the last minute and we have all of their team player info. back and we are going through the files. We will be working on them this weekend and parents should get notice by Monday night.(March 5th) Many teams have only been able to get one or two practices in because of the weather, so these boys did not miss much, plus these boys have played football before. We still have time to get these boys their equipment and jerseys.
Coaches please remember when we put some of these boys on your roster to welcome them in and remember one of our league's mission statements are "no player left out or left behind"

Age Divisions/X Weights
New X Man Weights UPDATED for our 2012 Season!!
We organize our divisions by age rather than neighborhoods. We want to keep players as close to their neighborhood as possible, however. Please note that you may travel to a nearby city to practice if there aren't enough players near you. Encourage your friends to register!
AGE (as of Sept. 1, 2011)
Gremlins 8-9 X Man 100 Z Down 70
Pee Wee 10 X Man 120 Z Down 90
Mitey Mites 11 X Man 130 Z Down 100
Midget 12 X Man 145 Z Down 115
Bantam 13-14 X Man 165 Z Down 135
Junior 15-16 No Weights / Play like High School
Z-down rule: The UYIFL allows 3 players to Z-down (OBL in WFFL) per team. This is to prevent teams from stacking older players in younger teams.
Can a player play up? Only if it allows him to remove an X in the older division.
The players will play in the same age division as their outdoor Fall Season 2011. They will move up to the next division in their outdoor Fall Season 2012.

Coaches~Families~Friends: IMPORTANT GAME DAY INFO
A couple of IMPORTANT things to note:
1. Please click on "My Site News" on the left menu and read the Fieldhouse rules entirely. These are rules set forth by the UofU that we are required to enforce and abide by in order to keep our privilege to lease the facility. We know they are strict, but it is necessary to maintain the field for the UofU football team and other organizations who use the facility. It is expensive and difficult to maintain the turf. Failure to abide by these rules can bring warnings, fines, and eviction to individuals and/or the league.
Please park on the street and across the street at the north end of the Salt Lake Sports Complex, NOT IN THE LOWER WEST PARKING LOT! This is for UYIFL staff and handicapped parking only. Many cars have parked in the fire lane, and will be subject to towing. Coaches may load and unload, but must move out of this area. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK ANY DOORS OR FIRE LANES. There is limited space for emergency vehicles on the west side. Warnings will be placed on vehicles parked in the west area.
2. Parents, please direct ALL issues/concerns to your coach. It is impossible for our small staff to answer every phone call or email from parents. He is your point of contact, and will then direct issues to UYIFL personnel. Even on game day we have a very small staff, and have many things going on to keep the day flowing. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this.
3. Our scheduled time at the Fieldhouse is 30 min. prior to first scheduled game. NO ONE IS TO ENTER PRIOR TO THIS TIME! Other organizations also rent the facility, and their time ends just as ours begins. Please wait and warm-up outside.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO FOR YOUR PLAYERS!

UYIFL Sponsorship Fund/Donations
Support our league by donating online NOW!
One of our goals at the UYIFL is to allow the opportunity for all youth to play football, yet many hard working families aren't able to afford the cost for their kids.
We will provide fundraising opportunities for those who wish to supplement their fees, and a discount to those with proof of school fee waiver eligibility. Discounts will not be given online, registration needs to be in person.
We are always looking for sponsors and/or donations to assist us in many areas. Your name and/or company name will be listed on our front page and Sponsor link. Other sponsorship packages are available. We are a non-profit organization, donations may be tax deductible.
TO DONATE, CLICK ON THE "DONATE NOW" LINK ON THE LEFT MENU!
Thank you!

Mission Statement
Our mission in the UTAH YOUTH INDOOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE, INC. (Utah Non-Profit) is to allow youth an opportunity to participate in the game of football on an indoor field, teaching them the fundamentals of the game and further developing their skills with an emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, respect and interaction with youth their age while being coached/mentored by adults who emulate these standards. Every youth who has the wish and desire to play, regardless of experience, skill or ethnicity, will be afforded that opportunity in the UYIFL.
The UYIFL recognizes that the youth of today are the future leaders of our country and world, and they will build strength, success, and confidence while participating in our league in order to reach their great potential. Winning does not make a winner, and losing does not make a loser...its how you play the game, on and off the field!

SPENCE ECCLES FIELD HOUSE RULES...PLEASE READ!
Salt Lake County – Spence Eccles Field HousePolicy Guidelines and Rules 1. All groups must have a supervisor with them at all times.2. The Field House is a smoke free/tobacco free facility.3. Food of any kind, beverage of any kind, including sports drinks (other than water), gum, and sunflower seeds, ARE NOT PERMITTED in the Field House. These items are very difficult to clean up from the turf. (This means team treats/drinks need to be distributed outside of the facility, with all garbage removed.)4. No animals are allowed in the facility.
5. Children under 18, not participating in a supervised children’s activity, must be with a parent at all times and must remain in the spectator area. (We have had issues with children on equipment and playing on rocks outside and have been called on game day by the Field House management. Please keep your young children with you)
6. All trash must be picked up after your time in the Field House. 7. All equipment must be picked up and removed after your time in the Field House.8. Once the scheduled time is finished, all rental groups must promptly leave the facility. No one is allowed inside the facility before scheduled time. Other programs have the facility up until our rental time (The latter applies to those playing the first game of the day. We cannot enter the Field House until our first scheduled game time each Saturday).9. SL County Parks and Recreation will have a Supervisor on sight at all times to monitor rental groups.10. The SL County Supervisor (or any UYIFL staff member) reserves the right to contact U of U Campus Security (or other law enforcement if needed) in the event that it is deemed necessary to do so.Note: The UYIFL has a strict “NO TOLERANCE” policy for threats or confrontations of any kind and to anyone (officials, coaches, players, parents, spectators, staff members, etc). Security or law enforcement WILL BE CALLED and those involved will be escorted out of the facility. Let’s remember this is about the kids playing, learning, and having fun, not about adults losing their tempers. 11. SL County Parks and Recreation and the UYIFL are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please keep valuables including cameras, purses, and backpacks with you at all times.12. Failure to comply with these rules will result in a loss of the use of the Spence Eccles Field House.
13. PARKING is located on the street in front of the Spence Eccles Field House or the University Parking Lot (which is free on weekends) located across the street from the Spence Eccles Field House and next to (on the north side) the SLC Sports Complex, BUT NOT IN the Sports Complex parking lot. This is reserved for its patrons only. Parking in the lower west parking lot is for UYIFL staff and handicapped/elderly ONLY!! Notices will be placed on vehicles. University police will ticket and tow anyone parked in the Fire Lanes or blocking doors. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. EMERGENCY VEHICLES COME INTO THIS AREA WHEN PLAYERS ARE INJURED AND IT IS VERY TIGHT. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE LOWER PARKING LOT.
The UYIFL’s scheduled time begins one half hour prior to the first scheduled game when our staff quickly sets up the fields, and ends at 10:30pm each Saturday. We are not to enter the Field House prior to this as it belongs to other rental groups, and we must be cleaned up and out immediately following our last game. The last teams of the night, please stay until the Field House is clean.Sunnyside Park is just east of Guardsman Way on Sunnyside Ave. (800 So.) if any teams wish to meet earlier for warm-up or practice time. Teams may warm up on the grass strips adjacent to the Field House, but NOT ON THE FENCED IN FIELD. This is for UofU use ONLY! GAME DAYS: In addition to no food, we will also not be able to bring banners, balloons, noise makers, etc. The families may bring posters and show their team spirit with colorful clothing, hats, t-shirts, etc. Spectators will need to bring chairs just as they do outdoors.
