Welcome to USA Metro Selects
Our goal is to develop hockey skills and sportsmanship on and off the ice. Helping our children become the best players and adults possible while participating in a sport they love to play and collecting memories that will last a life time.
As for the players on the team, I expect them to show respect towards the Referees,coaches and all other players,win or lose! As for the parents on the team I expect the same. Remember winners never quit and quitters never win.
Teamwork: Teamwork is the core value of hockey. No 1, 2 or even 5 players can do it. Teamwork requires everyone working together, filling in, pushing each other to try harder or lifting up a teammate when they are down. Teamwork is respect for all players regardless of their ability. Teamwork relies on effort & heart. Teamwork is our key to success
Team unity: With most youth sports but especially travel hockey it is important to function as a unit. In this context a “unit” would be defined as a functional group of management, coaches, players and parents with common goals and desires that substantially everyone would agree with. Any one group with in the unit cannot establish meaningful goals without everyone else buying into them. It is especially important in this situation to have the acceptance and support of the parents because they essentially control two of the four groups within the unit. “We need your help”, unity makes strength, and by working together, we can accomplish more than any of us could accomplish by working separately.
I would like to thank the parents and the assistant coaches for making this possible. With out there support I could not make this happen. Most of all let's not forget that hockey is a fun and learning experience with out fun there is nothing else.
