Holiday Practice Schedule @ Junior High School:

Mon 22^nd – 8 -10 AM

Tues 23^rd – 8-10 AM

Fri 26^th 8 -10 AMFri

January 2^nd – 8 -10 AM We understand not all can make it during the holiday; we want to make sure that we see as many as possible at the tournaments through out the holidays and to see EVERYONE back at practice January 6^th!  

Weather – If school is closed because of the weather, there is no practice. If it is a late start there is practice. 

Challenges– There will be some challenges this week in order to place wrestler’s properly for this weekend’s dual. We ask that you attend all practices this week and if you will not be here, please check with Sally Wheeler to make sure you will not be missing a challenge.  If you are not here to challenge, we may have to pass over you which could cost you your JV or Varsity spot for this weekend.  

This weekend Dual - Weigh In:  8:30-9:00 side by side JV & Varsity. Exhibition to start at 9:30 JV & Varsity matches immediately after exhibition.

 Tournaments for the remainder of the month: 

Dec. 27^th will be the Holiday Tournament at Kent. Fun for all! Medals given!

January Exhibition Match: We will be hosting an exhibition match against the Ft. Lewis Wrestling team in January. The match is tentatively scheduled for Thursday January 15^th during practice time. The exhibition matches will take place in the auxiliary gym next to the mat room.

Junior High Home Matches – The Jr. High will be hosting two double dual matches at home and have invited us to come and watch. What a great way to support our wrestlers and see how others wrestle.

January 14th & 16^th.

50/50 Raffle – As a lot of you know, one of our team mates unexpectedly lost his father recently. We would like to take the profits from this weekends raffle and put it towards a fund that his family has begun to help he and his other siblings. This weekends raffle collected over $100 along with anything that you would like to put towards it, and we will be donating on behalf of the UP Vikings Wrestling Club. If you wish to donate please see Sally Wheeler or Bridget Janson.

Clothing Orders – LAST WEEK TO PLACE ORDERS!!! No orders will be taken after Thursday November 20^th. 

Predator Nationals – We have 23 wrestlers registered/participating in Predator Nationals @ Puyallup Fair Grounds. Even if you are not wrestling please come and watch; it will be a great experience for all.  Nov.21^st – weigh ins 4:00 PM – 7:00 PMNov. 22^nd – Wrestling 8:30 AM – 10:00 PMNov. 23^rd – Wrestling 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM                Finals (will be on FOX) – 4:00 – 5:30 PM Entry will be at the Blue Gate ONLY. Entrance fee is $12  per spectator – 4 and under are free.  

Predator Nationals Volunteers - We need to firm up our volunteers for this event. We are in need of volunteers that will be available both days. We need at minimum 6 people for table help and 6 people for security. Please see Bridget or Sally for questions or to volunteer.

Team Fundraiser – Everyone is doing fabulous on the fundraiser this year. The team still has 12 boxes of chocolate so if you have not received one or would like another, please see Lori Cooney. ·         Fundraising: Thursday Nov. 13th – Thursday Dec. 4^th·         Fundraising money needs to be turned in NO LATER THAN 12/4·         Each bar is $2.00·         There will be prizes for early returns on boxes sold and top 2 candy bar sellers. 

Team Tournaments: There are two tournaments over Thanksgiving week; each wrestler can only go to one.

Tough Guy is for aggressive, experienced wrestlers. This will be held on Friday 11/28 at Orting Middle School. Preregistration is required by team. Please make sure you confirm that you are registered for this tournament. $15.00 ENTRY FEE PER WRESTLER

9 and over         8:00-11:00 a.m.

Concessions will be open all day.

Turkey Tournament is for 1^st and 2^nd year wrestlers. The Turkey Tournament will on Saturday after Thanksgiving at Federal Way.
