Every year Upland Pony holds differant fundraisers for the league.  One way we try to raise money is a clothing drive.  You can start collecting from your friends and neighbors now and save the items until our Spring 2010.  All items of clothing are accepted, belts, shoes, scarves, and hats.  Blankets and sheets or towells are also taken.  Items must be in fair condition and reasonably clean.

Some teams last year raised as much as $600.00 with the clothing drive.

Practice/try-outs are on Monday Sept. 14, 2009 at 5:00pm to 7:00pm.   All players, including returning players, need to be on the field at 5:00pm and will stay for the entire time.  There will also be parent meeting at 6:00pm on the same day.  

Hawkins Field needs lots of work to be ready for games next week, so we will have a field day Friday Sept. 18 at 5:00pm until finished, every player and their parents needs to be on the field helping get ready for a great winterball season.

Congratulations to our Upland Pony 2009 Allstars.

Our opening day was a great success, we were happy to see that all the teams were ready for pictures.  teams did so well at pictures they were almost done to soon.  our president, Charlie Reynoso spoke for a very short time, and we were proud to have the Ddesert Storm Naval Sea Cadtes as our Cololr Guard. 

We also honored Danny Perez, the brother-in-law of David Villa a player on the Giants.  Danny is a specialist currently on leave from Iraq.  Danny Perez is expected to go back in 2 weeks.  We were honored that he would come out, in uniform, and allow us to recognise his service in Iraq, during our ceremonies.  We wish both Danny Perez and his wife great luck in the future.

Dave Coggins also spoke to our players.  Dave is an Upland Pony alumni and a former MLB player with the Philladephia Phillies.  he is currently a pitching coach for USC.    Dave also founded Performance Training for Athletes in Rancho Cucamonga.
