2012 Upland Pony Champions Red Sox

THE RED SOX ARE THE 2012 UPLAND PONY CHAMPIONS!!!

The 2012 Upland Pony Baseball Playoffs are over and the RED SOX have emerged as this years' CHAMPS!.

Having to win two games on Saturday after losing Thursday to the Winner's Bracket Champion ANGELS, the RED SOX relied on two young thirteen year olds to pull off the improbable.

Ryan Phelps pitched 7 fantastic innings in game one to help lead the Sox to a 5 to 2 win.

In game two, the Sox pitched 13 year old Elijah Aragon.  His sore right arm and terrible defense by the Sox helped the ANGELS get out to a huge 9 to 2 lead after two.

But with a lot of baseball left and defensive problems of their own, the Angels, began to implode as their sore arms and depleted pitching staff began to show.

The RED SOX went into the lead 13 to 9 after two huge (5 runs and 6 runs) innings.

The RED SOX went to another 13 year old, junk baller Bradley DeNayer, who pitched a solid three innings of two run ball until the SOX handed the ball off to Tim Potter.

Potter pitched the last 1 2/3 with three strike outs and got the final out on a fly ball to center by Skylar De Los Reyes.  The ball was caught by game one winner, Phelps, who after securing the ball was quickly thrown to the ground and dog piled by his ecstatic teammates.
