Union Township Kids Little League: 2009 Divisions
For 6-7-8-year-old boys / girls; also for 9-year-olds who are playing for the first time, or to further develop their skills.
Players will bat pitched balls from their own coach or manager from regulation distance.
Kids usually start pitching in the game after about four games.
Real baseballs are used.
Players will be assigned to teams by the Player Agent and League President.
The primary objective is fun and fundamentals!
National League
For 9/10-year-old boys / girls; also for 11-year-olds who need to further develop their skills.
Pitching is done by the players.
Returning National League players will remain with their previous team.
All new National League players are required to attend tryouts.
Players will be assigned to teams by a draft process.
7/8-year-olds may play in this league, but they must tryout. Managers assess whether the player has the skills to play at this level.
American League
For 11/12 year old boys / girls.
Pitching is done by the players.
Returning American League players will remain with their previous team.
All new American League players are required to attend tryouts.
Players will be assigned to teams by a draft process.
9/10-year-olds may play in this league, but they must tryout. Managers assess whether the player has the skills to play at this level.
