Union Little League: Umpires

Adult Umpires
All it takes is the desire to help our children learn the game of baseball and the personal commitment to help umpire a few games a season. It is a little known fact that virtually all the umpires used for Little League Baseball are volunteers. Union Little League and District 12 staff umpires will provide each volunteer with thorough training and direction well in advance of your first game. Additionally, mentors are available to provide ongoing training and feedback throughout the season to ensure each umpire is as successful on the field as possible. Umpires are great role models for the children, so please sign up today and help make a difference to the youth of your community!

Youth Umpires
Union Little League is very proud of its youth umpire program. We believe it is an outstanding way to develop the character, courage, and loyalty of our youth. Youths 12 years old and above with a love for the game and a desire to work hard are welcome to try out. Training consists of a mandatory on-the-field training. On the field, all umpires will receive mentoring from more experienced umpires throughout the season. We encourage youth umpires to volunteer, and we are happy to sign letters as evidence for community service credit , two hours per game. However, we recognize that youth umpiring is hard work and often a child's first work experience. Youth umpires may elect to be compensated.

Taught by World Series umprires and Western Region instructors.

New and experienced umpires encouraged to attend.

Managers and coaches encouraged to attend.
