As required under Little League rules all 12 year olds must participate at the Major level. Players for this division are assessed for ability score and subsequently put in a draft and are selected for a team. ULL will redraft all of its Major teams for the seventh year in a row in 2009.   Re-drafting allows for more equitable and competitive teams.

AA

   AA            8-9    Machine/Player pitch

Players for “AA” are assessed for an ability score by the managers and coaches. Subsequently they are put into a draft format and are selected by a team. Requests to be teamed with friends are not accommodated due to the draft format of player selection.

A
Minor League baseball is the next step to providing the basic training in fundamentals. Minor League activity helps perpetuate the local league by providing a flow of trained, younger players to replace those who graduate each year out of the program.
The "A" Minor League program is for players age 7-8. The goal of the Minor League is to prepare children for eventual selection to a Major Division team.
Union Little League has three divisions within its Minor League program which are differentiated by age, ability, and pitching style as shown below:

Division   Age range        Pitching style
   A            7-8         Machine pitch

Players for “A”, “AA”, and “AAA” are assessed for an ability score by the managers and coaches. Subsequently they are put into a draft format and are selected by a team. Requests to be teamed with friends are not accommodated due to the draft format of player selection.

T-Ball
Little League Tee Ball baseball is a program developed primarily for young players and those just learning the fundamentals. The first part of the season Tee Ball utilizes an adjustable batting stand or “tee” from which the ball is hit. About mid way through the season a combination of a coach pitched ball and the tee are used.
Tee Ball is for children of league age 5, 6, 7 and/or 8, to be decided by local league option. Players league age 5 and 6 are eligible for Tee Ball only. However, if a player who is league 6 has played a full season of Tee Ball, he/she may play in the Minor League Division.
Players are randomly assigned to a team and no skill assessment is required as game scores are not “officially” recorded. Requests to be teamed with friends are attempted but not guaranteed.
