Both WHO TV and the Des Moines Register have sent reporters to Williamsport. Tune in to WHO or get a copy of the register. You can also check their websites for news and photos.
Sunday, August 16

On Saturday, August 15, the Major League All-Stars defeated the Missouri All-Star team 7-6 to win the Midwest Regional Tournament. The victory qualifies the team for the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania! The World Series begins on August 21st and our All-Stars will meet the Southeast regional winner from Warner Robbins, Georgia. All games will be televised on either ESPN or ABC. Sunday, August 16
The Junior League All-Stars had a great run in the Central Region All-Star tournament and competed in the championship game on Thursday, August 13. Unfortunatley they lost the game to the Indiana All-Stars.
This was still quite an accomplishment as All-Star play in the Central Region began with 575 teams from 11 states.
Congratulations to the team!

Four All-Star teams from Urbandale win State Championships! The Championship teams are:
- 10-11 Year Olds
- 11-12 Year Olds (Major League)
- 13 Year Olds
- Junior League

The Urbandale Little League Board of Directors would like to remind you about the ULL Scholarship:
The Urbandale Little League has voted to annually award a graduating high school senior with a one time scholarship in the range of $500 - $1000.
The award amount will be determined by the Urbandale Little League Executive Committee each year based on the funds available to the league that year. For more information, and to access the documents:

Urbandale Little League is always looking for volunteers to help out during the year with tournaments, field preperations, coaching, etc. To find out more about volunteering opportunities contact any board member.
Little League Child Protection Program
All local Little Leagues are now required to conduct background checks on Managers, Coaches, Board of Directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams. Individuals are also required to complete and submit a Little League Volunteer Application to their local league. For additional information, click here.
Each year Urbandale Little League gives over 700 Urbandale youth the opportunity to play organized baseball in a quality complex operated by dedicated volunteers. In addition, ULLs Challenger Division helps 150 disabled youth from around central Iowa experience the dream of playing baseball. It takes hundreds of volunteers giving their time and dedication to help keep ULL a quality organization and top-notch baseball complex. We also need your financial support to insure the ULL complex maintains this quality for future generations.
