Utah Indoor Football League: Welcome
WELCOME TO THE NEW UIFL FOOTBALL LEAGUE! THIS SEASON WE WILL BE PLAYING COLLEGE FOOTBALL RULES ON A FULL 100 YARD INDOOR FIELD! WE WILL NO LONGER BE PLAYING ARENA FOOTBALL!
These are some of the past accomplishments in the UIFL 14th year history! The UIFL is the oldest and largest class A premiere semi-pro recreational Indoor/Arena football league in Utah and the country! The league has been in existence since 1998. This is our 14th year anniversary AND THE UIFL NOW HAS EVOLVED INTO A 100 YARD FULL FIELD COLLEGE RULES RECREATIONAL LEAGUE! We have been cleared through the NCAA and players that wish to continue on to college will not lose their eligiblity.
The UIFL mission statement is simple: to allow quality football players to continue playing professionally organized football after high school, college, and pro careers may be over. Many players continue to develop their talents and move to the next level of football in the quest to reach the goals they have set for themselves. After 14 years, the list is long of the young men that have gone on to successful careers in College, PIFL,NIFL,AIFL,IFL,AFL,CFL and the NFL.

UIFL WEEK 3 GAME RESULTS: DEC. 15TH 2012
UTAH STEALTH 12 NO. UTAH SHARKZ 0
THE NO. UTAH SHARKZ DEFENSE DID A GREAT JOB TO HOLD THE STEALTH TO ONLY 6 POINTS PER HALF. THE SHARKZ DEFENSE GAVE THEIR OFFENSE PLENTY OF OPPERTUNITIES TO SCORE, THEY GOT IN THE REDZONE OF THE STEALTH A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT COULD NOT PUT ENOUGH SUCCESFUL PLAYS TOGETHER TO PUNCH IT IN THE ENZONE. COACH THOMAS HAS DONE A GREAT JOB AT BUILDING HIS DEFENSE INTO PLAYOFF FORM, NOW ALL HE HAS TO DO IS MAKE A FEW KEY OFFENSIVE PERSONEL CHANGES AND HIS TEAM WILL HAVE A LEGITIMATE SHOT!
SALT LAKE GOONS 2 MAGNA MINERS 0
THIS GAME WAS A GREAT DEFENSIVE BATTLE FROM BEGINING TO END! THIS WAS THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON FOR THE SALT LAKE GOONS. WITH VETERAN HEAD COACH RODERT REDMILES AT THE HELM HE KEPT HIS TEAM STEADY THROUGH OUT THE WHOLE GAME AND THEY CAME AWAY WITH A WIN FROM A SAFETY. THE MAGNA MINERS WERE NECK AND NECK WITH THE GOONS ALL GAME AND IT COULD HAVE GONE EITHER WAY!
Sunday, December 9
UIFL WEEK 3 GAME SCHEDULE DEC. 15TH 2012
8:30 PM. NO. UTAH SHARKZ VS THE UTAH STEALTH

THE UIFL WILL BE BACK IN WEEK 4 JAN. 5TH 2013.
THE UIFL WOULD LIKE TO WISH ALL OUR PLAYERS AND THEIR FAMILIES A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A SAFE HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Sunday, December 9
UTAH STEALTH 12 MAGNA MINERS O
THE MAGNA MINERS MADE A HUGE IMPROVMENT THIS WEEK ONLY ALLOWING THE UTAH STEALTH TO SCORE 2 TOUCHDOWNS. IF A COUPLE OF KEY PLAYS WENT THE OTHER WAY FOR THE MINERS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFERENT OUT COME. THE MINERS PLAYED SOME VERY PHYSICAL FOOTBALL! LOOK FOR THE MINERS TO START WINNING SOME GAMES AND MAKE A SERIOUS RUN FOR THE PLAYOFFS.
UVU WOLVERINES 24 IDAHO OILERS 6
THE OILERS WERE EVEN UP WITH THE WOLVERINES AT HALFTIME UNTIL THE WOLVERINES QB CONNECTED WITH TWO BEAUTIFULLY THROWN BACK TO BACK DEEP SKINNY CORNER TOUCHDOWNS THAT TOOK THE AIR OUT OF THE OILERS FOR THE REST OF THE GAME. HEAD COACH GARY CROWTON (FORMER BYU HEAD FOOTBALL COACH 2001-2004) AND CURRENTLY THE OFFENSIVE CORDINATOR FOR THE WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS OF THE CFL FOUND THE WEEKNESS IN THE OILERS DEFENSE QUICKLY AND DIALED UP A GREAT OFFENSE FOR THE WIN.
IDAHO OILERS 7 NO. UTAH SHARKZ 6
WITH SOME BADLY NEEDED ADDITIONS TO THE SHARKZ ROSTER HEAD COACH THOMAS WAS ABLE TO PUT TOGETHER A GREAT DEFENSE TO STOP THE OFFENSE OF THE OILERS. THE SHARKZ HAD THE WIN UNTIL A LAST MIN 50 YARD TOUCHDOWN BY THE OILERS! LOOK FOR THE SHARKS TO CONTINUE TO IMPROVE THEIR GAME PLAN. IF THEY CAN PUT TOGEHER ALL THE PIECES NEED TO GET THEIR OFFENSE RUNNING, THE SHARKS COULD BE IN THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR.

Vince Lombardi Speech
This is considered as one of the greatest football speeches of all time.
(Not a copyrighted speech)
WHAT IT TAKES TO BE NO. 1
by Vince Lombardi
Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing.
You don't win once in a while; you don't do things right once in a while; you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
There is no room for second place. There is only one place in my game, and that's first place.I have finished second twice in my time at Green Bay, and I don't ever want to finish second again. There is a second place bowl game, but it is a game for losers played by losers. It is and always has been an American zeal to be first in anything we do, and to win, and to win, and to win. Every time a football player goes to play his trade he's got to play from the ground up-from the soles of his feet right up to his head. Every inch of him has to play. Some guys play with their heads. That's O.K. You've got to be smart to be number one in any business. But more importantly, you've got to play with your heart, with every fiber of your body. If you're lucky enough to find a guy with a lot of head and a lot of heart, he's never going to come off the field second.Running a football team is no different than running any other kind of organization, an army, a political party or a business. The principles are the same. The object is to win. To beat the other guy. Maybe that sounds hard or cruel. I don't think it is.It is a reality of life that men are competitive and the most competitive games draw the most competitive men. That's why they are there. To compete. To know the rules and objectives when they get in the game. The object is to win fairly, squarely, by the rules-but to win. And in truth, I've never known a man worth his salt who in the long run, deep down in his heart, didn't appreciate the grind, the discipline. There is something in good men that really yearns for discipline and the harsh reality of head to head combat.I don't say these things because I believe in the "brute" nature of man or that men must be brutalized to be combative. I believe in God, and I believe in human decency. But I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.
