Welcome to the Utah Indoor/Arena Football League! The UIFL is the oldest and largest class A premiere semi-pro recreational Indoor/Arena football league in Utah and the country! The league has been in existence since 1998. This is our 13th year anniversary! The UIFL is a non-profit organization registered with the State of Utah. We have been cleared through the NCAA and players that wish to continue on to college will not lose their eligiblity.
The UIFL mission statement is simple: to allow quality football players to continue playing professionally organized football after high school, college, and pro careers may be over. Many players continue to develop their talents and move to the next level of football in the quest to reach the goals they have set for themselves. After 13 years, the list is long of the young men that have gone on to successful careers in College, IFL CFL, AFL and the NFL.
If you are a quality football player with integrity and you still want to fullfill your dreams of playing football, this is the place for you!

The Utah Indoor Football League's 13TH Season / 2012 Playoffs!!
Saturday Jan. 28th 2012
at the U of U Spense Eccles Field House
Idaho Oilers vs Bountiful Braves
7:15 PM
Stealth vs Mudd Ducks
8:30 PM
Playoff game results by the UIFL news reporter:
Bountiful Braves 37 Idaho Oilers 18
Stealth 37 Mudd Ducks 21
Both playoff games were really great to watch at the U of U Spence Eccles field house, the only premiere first class Indoor Football facility in the state was packed with loyal family and friends who appreciated the only real quality Utah State Semi-Pro Indoor Football League and its players!
All our fans this night of playoffs got to watch two super competitive Indoor football games! The Idaho Oilers with the second best record in the regular season were ahead of the Bountiful Braves 18 to 15 at halftime and it looked liked we were going to see much of the same for the second half. The Idaho Oilers were also considered by many a sure bet to be in the UIFL 13th season Championship game. However, the Braves seemed to step it up to another level that the Idaho Oilers were not prepared for that night and the Braves closed the game out with a 37 to 18 win over the Oilers to advance for the first time into the UIFL Indoor War Championship Game!
Our second game was with the two time UIFL Champions the Utah Stealth vs the Mudd Ducks. The Mudd Ducks are a first year UIFL team who made it into the playoffs their first year in the UIFL, which is very rare in the 13 year history of the league. This game was a battle right from the start! Both teams traded touchdowns right down to the fourth quarter. I think the experience of team owner, head coach, and starting QB Jeff Wissler along with so many veteran Stealth UIFL players closed it out on the young Mudd Ducks very talented team. Final Score Utah Stealth 37 Mudd Ducks 21!
Congratulations to all four of our very talented UIFL teams for making it into these great UIFL playoff games and I believe any one of these teams could beat any other Championship team from any other indoor league in the state!

The Stealth beat the Utah Bears in a hard fought UIFL Championship game to claim the 2010 11th season UIFL Championship! Stealth 48 Bears 35!
Stats for the Utah Stealth
Passing
Jeff Wissler - 3 TD's
Rushing
Michael laloni - 1 Rushing TD
Levi Vagana - 1 Rushing TD
Receiving
Major Smith - 2 Receiving TD's
Joe Mapson - 1 Receiving TD
Kicking
Scott thompson - 5 xpts - 3 Fg's and 4 - 1pt kick offs
The Utah Stealth offense came out ready to play and jumped up by 2 quick Td's and then the Bears came back making it a hard fought game. The most the Stealth defense have given up in a game this year is 6 points. So the Utah Stealth really were able to see how they would react as the Utah Bears were able to score more points then the Stealth were used to. At times it was very close, but the Stealth defense did what they have done all year and forced turnovers - 1 interception and 2 or 3 fumble recovery's which gave the offense the oportunity to close the door on the Bears Championship dream. It was a great game!
Special cudos go out to one of the greatest UIFL coaches Vince Tauanuu who showed up on the Utah Stealth sideline to cheer on some of his former Utah Sting championship players!
Now Jeff Wissler and his Utah Stealth are challenging any and all teams to dare to take away their expected 2011 Championship this Feb.

The Wissler's Saints a first year team in the UIFL made up of various senior players from past years teams in the UIFL and a few ex-Utah Saints from the AIFA, a professional indoor minor league, defeated the 5 time UIFL Northern Conference Champions the Scorpions 56 to 36 at the Kaysville Sports Complex.
It was a hard fought battle between both teams through the third quarter and seemed like either team would take the championship until the Saints put it out of reach with some superior passing skills of veteren QB Jeff Wissler (ex-QB of the AIFA Utah Saints 2008 team).
Team owner and QB Terrence Smothers of the Scorpions had a good night, but you could see that an injury earlier in the season came back to haunt him in this game.

Vince Lombardi Speech
This is considered as one of the greatest football speeches of all time.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE NO. 1
by Vince Lombardi
Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing.
You don't win once in a while; you don't do things right once in a while; you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
There is no room for second place. There is only one place in my game, and that's first place.I have finished second twice in my time at Green Bay, and I don't ever want to finish second again. There is a second place bowl game, but it is a game for losers played by losers. It is and always has been an American zeal to be first in anything we do, and to win, and to win, and to win. Every time a football player goes to play his trade he's got to play from the ground up-from the soles of his feet right up to his head. Every inch of him has to play. Some guys play with their heads. That's O.K. You've got to be smart to be number one in any business. But more importantly, you've got to play with your heart, with every fiber of your body. If you're lucky enough to find a guy with a lot of head and a lot of heart, he's never going to come off the field second.Running a football team is no different than running any other kind of organization, an army, a political party or a business. The principles are the same. The object is to win. To beat the other guy. Maybe that sounds hard or cruel. I don't think it is.It is a reality of life that men are competitive and the most competitive games draw the most competitive men. That's why they are there. To compete. To know the rules and objectives when they get in the game. The object is to win fairly, squarely, by the rules-but to win. And in truth, I've never known a man worth his salt who in the long run, deep down in his heart, didn't appreciate the grind, the discipline. There is something in good men that really yearns for discipline and the harsh reality of head to head combat.I don't say these things because I believe in the "brute" nature of man or that men must be brutalized to be combative. I believe in God, and I believe in human decency. But I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.
