A clement day in Sunderland was the location of this match, where both teams came out strong. The sharks struck first after a 60 yard run by Gaz Wild was finished off on the next play with a 10 yard pass to the same man. However, the run on the 2 point conversion by RJ Stockdale was stopped short. The sharks were dominant for the rest of the half but costly penalties pushed them back. The second half was more of a defensive struggle with intense pressure on both quarterbacks. Just as it looked like the sharks were going to get the victory they deserved for their efforts with such a small squad present, Richard Traves broke free on a short pass play to score a 40 yard touchdown. The 2 point conversion was dropped by a wide open receiver which led to a tense finish. Overtime was a close affair with both teams failing with passes into the end zone. After 2 possessions each and the impending closure of the facilities, it was agreed to call the game a tie.
