UConn Avery Point's Yuta Okazaki won the Defensive Player of the Year and Gold Glove Awards for the National Junior College Athletics Assoication Region XXI Division II, and five teammates made the All-Region Baseball Team.

Okazaki, a catcher, joined shortstop Bryan Rivera, centerfielder and St. Bernard graduate Ryan Brahm and outfielder Matt Marinez as Gold Glove winners from Avery Point.

Shortstop, Rivera, outfielder Martinez, pitcher, and Griswold graduate Nick Fessenden, first baseman Mike Habzda and third baseman Mike Perry were named All-Region All-Stars.
