2008 AA Utah Division Here We COOOOOOOOME!!!!!!!
After hours of long deliberation the RMFL representitives have graciously allowed the Uintah Basin Oilers into the Rocky Mountain Football League. Actually it was not hours but only felt like it when worrying about whether countless hours of preparation and recruiting and many other activities would pay off. But the news at the end of the night was that we made into the league and will compete on the AA level in the Utah division consisting of the two other new teams; the Logan Stampede and Strippling Warriorz, as well as, the Morgan Mauraders. However, there was a point in that day before I went up to the meeting that I was considerably worried about our future in the league. It wasn't until I had stopped by Duchesne High School and officially locked locked down the school as our homefield through 2008. We would like to extend our thanks to Principal Young and the Duchesne High School Football staff for giving us this opportunity and look forward to working together to put together a great season. Official combine date and time will be released shortly as will the final schedule for the year. Oilers Seek First Win
The Uintah Basin Oilers Host the Eastern Idaho Lionz in Duchesne, Ut Saturday April 26th, at 3:30 P.M. The Oilers are 0-2 and the Lionz are 1-1 going into the contest. The Oilers previous game scores and write ups are in the schedules, scores sections of the website.

Oilers will take on the Salt Lake Seminoles in pre-season opener
Your Uintah Basin Oilers have accepted an invation to play the Salt Lake Seminoles, a AAA team, for a pre-season game March 29th. The game will be at the Seminoles home field Granite High.

PUNT, PASS AND KICK/FASTEST MAN COMPETITIONS!
The highlight of the BBQ was the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition and Fastest Man held after everyone had to a chance to eat some good food. Most of the competitions were close and only decide by a couple of yards or a stride or two. How the competition worked for the Punt, Pass, and Kick was that every player in attendance had ONE chance to see how far they could get the ball to travel. In the Fastest Man competition, all the participants lined up and went at the same time.

WHO WANTS TO PLAY SOME INDOOR???
We have been invited to play in the Utah Indoor Football League (UIFL)! Games will be played in the Olympic Oval in Kearns, Ut and will be played every other Saturday. This is a great opportunity for our team to get together and get into some live action games and start straping up and hitting other teams. Season Starts on November 24th so we will need half of the 90 dollar players fee by the end of this month and the other half by the 24th and you will have to get your own equipment by the 24th. With new equipment; Helmet/facemasks, shoulder pads, jerseys, pants, and pants pads it will cost players an additional $210. Obviously if you have any of the pads or helmet that cost will be cut. Spaces ARE limited so any interested players need to talk to Doug or me ASAP. Let see if we can get this together so we are better prepared to bring a RMFL title home to the Basin!!

FIRST INDOOR GAME!
We are officially going full head into indoor....Team fees due NOW!! Our first game is going to be played at 6:30 pm on 11/24/2007 at the Olympic Oval in Kearns make sure you have all of your stuff ready.

OILERS EARN HONORS THIS WEEK!!
A few of your Uintah Basin Oilers made the Utah Indoor Football League's Top Performers list for week 3!
#24 QB Jeremy Conetah finished at #2 for the week with 60 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.
#40 HB Jared Lujan finished at #2 for receiving with 40 yards a touchdown and a kickoff return for a touchdown as well!
#13 DB Austin Schurz earned a mention for the second week in a row with another interception, bringing his season total up to 2 with last weeks being returned for a touchdown!!
Oilers Honorable Mention
#12 WR Travis Maxfield missed out on the top performers list by 1 yard as he caught 2 passes for 34 yards and 2 touchdowns, a performance worth mentioning!
Congratulations to all the players for their efforts and may this be the beginning of many more honors to come!

HONORS FOR WEEK FIVE!
Here is the list of top performers on the UIFL website for week 5!
#12 Travis Maxfield finished #2 with 80 yards receiving and 1 Touchdown
#24 Jeremy Conetah finished #3 in Tackles for the week
#37 Doug "Superman" Brannon and a mislabled #82 Nick Melo also had one fumble recovery each. Nick's number was listed as #32 on the website.

UBO Combine February 16th
With the start of the '08 season getting closer your Uintah Basin Oilers will be holding thier official combine February 16th at the FT. Duchane gym. Registration starts at 2:30 and the attire will be tennis shoes/gym shoes and shorts or warm ups. Please be on time to register so the combine can start at 3:00. We will be getting 40 yard dash times, running some agility drills and game situations. It is absolutely free so come join the fun and be part of the Oilers run for the '08 AA Championship!!!
