Banquet Reservations due Friday, Nov. 6

Year End Soccer DVD
It is tradition to have a video montage made of the soccer season and shown at the conclusion of the banquet.  The montage includes pictures from the team photographers for JVB, JVA and varsity as well as some footage shot by Craig Caruso from Playback Performance.  If you would like to pre-order a copy, send me an e-mail stating the name you would like the order placed under and the quantity.  Pre-orders are $10, the night of the banquet $15.  If you pre-order, you must bring your check, made out to Playback Performance, the night of the banquet.

2010 Soccer Board
One of the goals we set this year as Captain Parents, has been to form a board for the 2010 soccer season.  It has long been recognized that there has been a need for more individuals to be involved at a higher level for the following reasons:

-  historical carry over of information from year to year
-  input and decision making authority on major topics such as budget setting, expenditures and
   fundraising

It is our vision to have a board comprised of both captain parents and 4 board positions.   The structure and responsibilities of the board would be decided by all said individuals once selected.  We have gathered information from other high school sports boards to assist in this planning.

We have not placed any parameters on who should sit on the board, the main qualification is time and interest.  It should be noted, that as a group this past year, we started meeting the first of the year and continued to do so once a month until the season began.  Each captain parent was responsible for a segment of the program with the assistance of committee chairpersons.  The board would spread out the supervisory role, not replace chairpersons or committee members.

Therefore if you would like to self nominate or nominate a fellow soccer parent, with their permission, please send an e-mail to jsandbo@aol.com no later than next Friday, Nov. 13th.  We are looking for representation from multiple grade levels (parents of incoming sophomores, juniors and seniors) for continuity and for a broad perspective. Ballots will then be prepared, distributed and counted the evening of the banquet.  The results would be announced at the conclusion of the banquet.

Thank you to all who provided us with input regarding the formation of a board, and we highly recommend you consider serving in a board position as the pay off is immeasurable.
