Tolland crowns a champion for the 4th year in a row!!!!!!!!!! Way to go C-Team
Going into the game some of the kids thought the Roadrunners were robotic. They where unscored upon and unbeaten. We told the kids if they play hard and  everyone plays their position correctly we could win. The team not only did that, but they played with more heart than any other team I've seen. It all started with the first kick off when we recovered the ball. Anthony Carter broke a big run to the five and just like that Cody Ouellette put it in for a touchdown. There went the unscored upon part of Ellington's season.  It wasn't long after Ellington broke a big one and scored quick. After a long clock killing drive Carter put one in for 6. At the half we had a 12 to 6 lead and that of course was the first time all year Ellington even trailed in a game. After a long defensive battle in the second half Ellington tied it up with not much time left. We tried to move the ball but that was not happening. The game went to over time. We had the ball first and  ;Ellington went offsides on the first play, two plays later Ouellette bulled his way into the endzone. The Eagle defense stopped the Roadrunners from scoring and the upset was complete.  That is where our points were scored, but there was a true team effort that day from the entire offense and defense.
Without touchdown saving tackles by Evan Suchecki and David Busch, and a ball being stripped by Bryce Kerecz, without Deondrew's hard hits throughout the game this upset would not have been possible.  It took an effort from the entire team to pull off this win.  There wasn't one player who didn't accomplish something that day.  I couldn't have been more proud of all of them.
I have never seen kids with more heart and desire then on that Sunday. What a game and what a win. Great job Tolland C-Team. A big THANK YOU goes to my coaching staff for putting so much time and effort into this great season.

Tolland B-Team is the Regular season champion with a undefeated record

Tolland B squad lost an extremely tough game to the Windsor Locks Jets in the championship, final score - 14 to 6. Our kids had a great season; finishing with 10 wins and 1 loss. This group of boys have a fantastic record together along with the coaching staff.  Providing a championship in 2006 and this year as runners up.  Their record those years was 21 wins with only 1 loss.  We had an astronomical  amount of point with 656 scored and only 66 against.  An unbelieveable amount of boys scored touchdowns in the 2008 season - 11.

It has been a pleasure to watch these fine young men grow and get better with every play.  Thank you to all the coaches for your hard work these last few months; we know it's not easy on your families.  I'm sure I can speak for all the parents who appreciate your dedication and your love of the game shows via the boys.  Thank you for making our years together so much fun!!

We can't forget our wonderful cheerleaders.  Who cheer us on no matter what and bring smiles to the crowd with their half time show.  We are so proud they placed 1st in the last cheerleading competition - Congratulations!!!

C- Team cheer leaders are awesome
We started with 23 unique individuals, some with and some without any prior experience, in August to form the cheerleaders C-Squad. Through lots of practices, hard work and dedication we watched those individuals grow in so many ways. The young ladies took a routine geared for an older squad and came together to make it look easy, we also accomplished stunting which was un-paralleled by any other c teams we came across this year. We as coaches saw great friendships formed, trust for one another and skill development. Which led to a TEAM that was able to go into competition, a first for many of us, and take 1st place at the Eagles Invitational Competition. That day was followed by cheering on the best game of the season when our C team beat Ellington for the championship.  Tolland C-Squad Cheerleaders had a great a season this year, they accomplished alot through hard work and dedication.
We want to thank all the parents for the time and dedication they also put in, we as a coaching staff could not be prouder of how much these girls accomplished.

D-Team 2008 Cheerleaders Rocks
The Tolland Youth Football Eagles D squad cheerleaders worked very hard this
year.  We practiced many nights in August around the thunderstorms and rain!
The squad consists of 26 girls ages 6-8 years old, 2 high school girls who
were assistant coaches and one head coach.  The girls cheered at every game
the D team football players played, in the hot sun, rain and freezing cold!
On November 13th the D squad took first place at the invitational
competition that took place at the Tolland High School and I am very proud
of them.  These girls learned a lot about being a team and having fun while
they learned to become cheerleaders.  I have enjoyed each member of the
squad, as each girl brought something exceptional to the team itself.  Many
talents and personalities were all put together to make this year a success,
and we could not have done it without any one of the girls.
