WELCOME TO TYRONE YOUTH BASEBALL
The 2008-2009 Board Members would like to welcome you to the Tyrone Youth Baseball Association (TYBA) website! Our mission is to teach life skills to children through the sport of baseball. Our league provides the opportunity for youth from the ages of three (3) to fourteen (14) to participate in organized baseball. Our Spring season runs from the middle of March through the end of May, excluding post season tournament play. The Fall season runs from approximately the end of August through mid October. Our league provides opportunities for children of various ages and skill levels to learn and play the great game of baseball. We may be contacted at (404) 496-5755 if you desire more information. Want to have fun with baseball? Come play and grow with us!

GREAT COACHES ALWAYS WELCOMED!!
TYBA is currently in the process of certifying new coaches for the upcoming FALL 2008 season. Requirements to become a coach are: (a) You must have a child on the team you want to coach and (b) be able to pass a Town of Tyrone background check You will also be required to obtain NYSCA Coach Certification. Most importantly, you must love working with young people and watching them grow through the sport of baseball. Previous coaching experience is NOT required. Please feel free to contact a board member for a coaches application.
NYSCA INFORMATION
What is N.Y.S.C.A? In order to be a part of the coaching staff (or anyone on the field working with the players), the Town of Tyrone requires you to attend the National Youth Sports Coaches Association training clinic and complete a nationwide background check. By attending the clinic, you become a member of NYSCA. The annual membership is $20 which is renewable every year online.
NYSCA certification can NOW be complete on-line at www.nays.org. The cost is $25. You can complete the class on-line and print a temporary card right there on the spot. If you are unable to complete the class on-line you must contact Jennifer Patton, Tyrone Recreation Director, at (770) 487-4694 Monday - Friday, 8:15 - 4:30pm to make other arrangements.
As a coach, you will need to complete a background check release form. The cost of the background check will be paid for by TYBA as our way of saying "Thank you for coaching!"
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE NYSCA OR THE BACKGROUND CHECKS PLEASE CALL Jennifer Patton at Tyrone Recreation, 770-487-4694.
NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE PLAYING FIELDS WITHOUT BEING NYSCA CERTIFIED AND YOU MUST CARRY YOUR CARD ON YOU AT ALL TIMES, TOO!
