********** Titans finish in 5th place in the 2007 Triple Crown World Series (Steamboat Springs) **********

Steamboat Springs, CO July 31 - August 5th

Tue 07/31 - Team check-in, Opening Ceremony and Players skills contest

Pool Play schedule:
Wed 08/01 2:15pm vs Centennial Sabers (field: Ski Town South)
Going into this game, the Titans felt this was going to probably be the toughest of the 3 teams we would face in pool play. Grant, our hard throwing righty, got the nod to start in the hopes we could not only win the game but keep the runs down as well. The Sabers got on the board early with a 2-0 lead in the first inning and kept our Titans scoreless for two innings. The Titans finally added a run to make it 2-1. Then the downpour came... then the wind and lightening and 20 degree temperature drop. After a one hour delay, play resumed with Will batting, two outs and Dylan on 2nd base. A walk and hit later, the Titans put 2 across to take the lead 3-2 and added another run in the 5th to take a 4-2 lead. The Sabers then scored one run in their last at-bat until Corey came in and closed the door to preserve the Titans 4-3 victory. Great job pitching by Grant and Blake.

Thur 08/02 8:30am vs Greeley Blue Sox (Oak Creek Lower)
The Titans once again got behind 2-0 in the top of the 1st but promptly
put up 10 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning thanks to 6 hits.
In the 2nd, the Titans added another pair of runs... final score 14-2!!

Thur 08/02 12:45pm vs Gallup Outlaws   (Oak Creek Lower)
Once again, the game started off the same way. The Outlaws jumped to
a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st. In the bottom of the 1st, the Titans
delivered a MASSIVE knockout punch, putting up 12 runs on 9 hits and
we never looked back. Final score, Titans 20 - Outlaws 5.

After going 3-0 in Pool Play, the Titans are seeded #3 and
have earned an automatic berth into the double-elimination Championship Bracket. Great job Titans!!!

Championship Bracket:
The Titans will be awaiting the winner of the #14 seed Billings Regulators vs #19 seed Fort Bend Texans. The Regulators/Texans will play at 5:15pm tonight. The Titans will play the winner at 7:15pm tonight.

*** Update ***
The Titans faced a very good Billings Regulators team tonight,
with the Regulators pitching a HARD throwing righty. It was a
defensive struggle for 3 scoreless innings. Finally the Titans
jumped on the scoreboard with a 2 RBI single by Dylan in the 4th.
Solid pitching by Blake and Efren, combining for a 3-hit shutout.
Final score, Titans 2 - Regulators 0.

08/04 Titans defeat the County Hornets 5-4 in a thriller, scoring a run in the bottom of the last inning with two outs. Titans record is 5-0 now in the World Series.

08/04 Titans lose to a TOUGH team, Chula Vista Green Sox (San Diego) by a score of 18-4.

The Titans record is now 5-1 and await the winner of 4 other teams battling each other. The Titans next game will be at 8:30am Sunday morning. The Titans have made the final 6... 28 other teams have left Steamboat!

The Titans faced Oklahoma City Venom, with the winner locking up at least 4th place and trophies. The Venom took the early 1-0 lead, then led 5-2 before the Titans battled back to take an 8-6 lead going into the last inning. 2 outs later, it looked like the Titans were on there way to victory... GRAND SLAM by the Venom's #5 hitter gave the Venom a heartbreaking victory over the Titans, 10-8. The Venom would then go on and win the World Series, defeating the Chula Vista Green Sox 16-9.
Great team effort by our never-give-up Titans, congrats! If it's any consolation Titans, you went 5-2 in the World Series, with your only losses to the two teams in the Championship Game!!

day if they wanted to bring home a trophy on Championship Sunday.
Game 1 - Titans vs Conroe Cougars: Titans win convincingly with a 4-innning run rule, 10-0.
Game 2 - Titans vs Deja Vu: A rematch (Titans lost to Deja Vu in Pool Play) with a fiesty North Houston team with a 15-2 record. Close game all the way, with the Titans holding on for a 5-4 win.
Game 3 - Titans vs Lake Houston Gators: The Titans jump out with 5 runs in the 1st and 9 runs in the 2nd and looked to be coasting to an easy victory. However this Kingwood opponent wasn't about to give up. In the 4th, after the 1st two Gators got out, they proceeded to score 9 runs! Titans win 19-13 in this high scoring 5 inning game.

Championship: Titans vs Kingwood Arsenal
The Championship was sheduled to be played at 8:00pm Sunday night... luckly
our boys caught a break (for much needed rest)...the rain and lightening caused
the game to be rescheduled for Monday night.
The Arsenal took a 1-0 lead through the 1st inning... that however would be the
last time our Titans were behind. The Titans chipped away in the 2nd and 3rd and
finished with a 10-3 victory!
