WELCOME TO

TEXAS EAST STATE
LITTLE LEAGUE

Texas East Little League was created in 2002 as a result of Little League Baseball asking that the State of Texas be split into two entities, Texas East and Texas West. Texas East stretches from the Sabine River in the east to I-20 in the north to I-35 on the west to San Antonio and from there I-181 to the Gulf of Mexico and back to the Sabine River. Although not the exact geographical boundaries, they roughly describe the area covered by Texas East. We are a very diverse group of urban and rural areas. To see the Leagues chartered in Texas East, you may click on the graphic below or on the "Alignment" link in the menu to the left. Please check out all of our menu items as we will try to put as much information as we can out to you. We hope you enjoy our website and come back to visit often.

Texas East State Umpires

Texas East State Umpires are well trained volunteers who travel at their own expense. Each year, the District Administrators throughout the State submit the names of their finest and most proficient umpires to the Supervisor of Umpires for consideration to both the Texas East State Baseball and Softball Tournaments. Umpires are then selected, from this list, to serve at the Texas East State Tournaments. It is considered very much an honor to be selected to serve at the Texas East State Tournaments, just as it is to be selected for the SW Regional Tournaments and ultimately the Little League World Series. Please remember to treat all Texas East Umpires with the respect which they deserve.

Tournament Affidavits and Player Residences

IMPORTANT: In prior years, it has been required that the physical location of each named player's residence be indicated on the approved League boundary map attached to the respective "Tournament Affidavit" for each participating team. Mr. Nic Caringi, Senior Director of Operations and Education with LLB International, has advised that this is no longer necessary. The League President, together with the Player Agent, certifies each named player to be legal with regard to residence, age and participation upon signing each participating team's affidavit. A copy of the approved League boundary map MUST be attached to each participating team's affidavit; however, it is not necessary to indicate the exact physical location of each player's residence on said League boundary map.
CLARIFICATION: The corresponding number assigned to each named player, on each respective "Tournament Affidavit", must be indicated on the approved League boundary map, attached to and made part of said "Tournament Affidavit", in the general location of said named player's residence and must be located inside of the League's boundary lines, as in prior years. The change is the League's ability to indicate the general location of said player's residence on the smaller version (8 1/2" X 11") of the approved League boundary map, in lieu of an expanded version in order to identify the exact physical location of said residence including road names, Texas Hwy nos., CR nos., etc. Any player outside of the approved League boundary lines will continue to require an approved waiver as a prerequisite to participation.

Local League Requirement for Participation in Tournament Play (All-Stars)

Pursuant to the Board's action on April 16, 2007, at the 24th Little League International Congress in Houston, Texas, the boundary lines for all local Little League programs are frozen. The boundary line for each chartered local Little League program is the boundary line detailed on the most recently accepted, and approved, map on file at the Southwestern Region Headquarters, provided ALL FOUR (4) of the below listed conditions are met on said map:

1) The boundary map is signed and dated by the person who was serving as the President of the local Little League program at the time the map was submitted, and
2) The boundary map is signed and dated by the person who was serving as the District Administrator of the local Little League program at the time the map was submitted, and
3) The boundary line shown on the map does not encroach upon the boundary line of any other chartered Little League program, and
4) The boundary line shown on the map is unbroken (closed), and clearly follows man made or geographic features; such as roadways, railroad tracks, rivers, etc. NOTE: When such features are shown on any boundary map submitted, the actual boundary line is considered to be the centerline of the feature.

This is a condition of eligibility for participation in Tournament play (All-Stars). Any local Little League program that does not have an approved boundary map on file, which complies with all four (4) of the above stated conditions, at the Southwestern Region Headquarters must prepare and submit an acceptable boundary map to the Southwestern Region Headquarters immediately. Any local Little League program failing to comply with this mandate is at risk of not being allowed participation in Tournament play (All-Stars).
