The league championship games were exciting.  In the American League, the White Sox prevailed over the Angels by a final score of 7-3 in the first championship game to earn the honor of American League Champions.  Congratulations to Todd Carlson, Brian Fitzgerald and all of the White Sox for guiding their team to the championship.  The White Sox were a very enthusiastic, full-spirited, fun team this season.
In the National League, there was quite a bit more drama.  On Tuesday night, the Braves defeated the Giants 9-2 to force a second championship game.  The second championship game was held last evening and was very exciting to watch.  The Giants score two runs in the top half of the first, and the Braves responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first.  The Giants scored single runs in the top of the second and top of the third innings to take a 4-2 lead.  The Braves rallied with three runs in bottom of third to take a 5-4 lead, highlighted by Nathan Landman's two run home run (still don't think he touched third base...).  The Giant scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 7-5 lead.  The Braves scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at 7-7.  The Giants then scored two runs in the top of the sixth, highlighted by Marc Heller's go-ahead RBI infield single.  The Braves had runners on base in the bottom of the sixth, but the Giants pitcher "Steven" pitched out of it to earn the save and the Giants prevailed 9-7 in an outstanding, mostly well-played game.  Congratulations to Steve Milne, Brian Cindric and all of the Giants!!!  By the way, the National League Giants won the title at the Majors, AAA and AA levels this season.  Go Giants!!

Single A Braves TVLL Champions!
Braves win the TVLL Championship 6 to 2 over the Cubs. Going into the bottom of the 3rd, the Braves and Cubs were tied 1-1 in a classic pitchers duel.  Andrew Bowen was the igniter for the Braves with a lacing double to left field.  After the 2nd out of the inning was recorded, the Braves were able to map out hits by Caden Bruce, Gabe Lechner, & Eric Weng to bring the score to 3-1.  The 3rd inning was capped off by a rocket line drive Home Run down the left field line by Ryan Burr.  This gave the Braves a 6-1 lead heading into the 4th inning. The Cubs put up a great fight and were able to load the bases in the 5th inning, but with the heads up play of Tyler Matthiesen at 2B and pitching of Caden Bruce to strike out the remaining 2 outs in the inning, the Braves were able to escape the inning with only 1 run given up. In the 6th inning, Will Vogeley came in to strike out the last batter, sealing the Braves Championship dreams, making the Braves the Champions of the regular season and the playoffs.
