Sunday, August 5 2007 Pacific Southwest Regional Results 15 year old All Stars Hanford, CA The 15's great run this summer came to an end after losing consecutive games following an opening round win. Nonetheless, this team advanced further than any other 15 year old team in our league history and many players will make their mark in their high school programs in the coming year. Game 3 Torrance 3 (Southern California)TVBR 1 Torrance scored 3 runs in the bottom the fifth to break open a scoreless game and held on to advance in the loser's bracket. TVBR got a run in the 6th on back to back doubles by Michael Smith and Ryan Fairclough but was shut down offensively most of the day. Starter Johnny Love pitched well in 4 2/3 innings allowing just 3 hits but took the loss. Game 2 Manteca 4 (Central California)TVBR 3 Jake Angelo hit a single to deep center field with the bases loaded and scored Ricky Acosta to push Manteca past Tri Valley 4-3 in an eight-inning contest at Tokumoto Field. TVBR had taken an early 3-0 lead with single runs in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th but Manteca scored 2 in the 4th and 1 in the 6th to tie the game. TVBR had the bases loaded in the 8th with one out but could not get the big hit. Ryan Fairclough led the offense going 3-4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Andy Eslick went 2-3 and Jeff Siragusa was 1-2 with a run scored. Danny Petros struck out 9 in 5 2/3 innings for Tri Valley. Game 1 TVBR 4 Hanford 2 Tri Valley rallied from a 2-0 deficit early to earn a hard fought comeback win against the host team from Hanford on the opening day of the Pacific Southwest Regional. Andy Eslick struggled early but finished strong and threw a 4 hitter with 8 strikeouts to earn the complete game victory. Konor Meeks hit a 2 run homer off Eslick in the third to give Hanford the early lead but TVBR got a runs in the 4th and 5th to tie the game. With two outs in the 6th Austin Moore delivered an rbi double to left center to score Tony Olguin from first for the go ahead run. Casey Hazen followed with an infield single and Danny Petros singled to right to score Moore and give TVBR a 4-2 lead. Hanford rallied in the 7th and loaded the based with two outs but Eslick struck out Luke Faria to end the game. Olguin was 2-3 with two runs, Ryan Fairclough was 2-3 and Eslick was 2-3 with an rbi as well. Wednesday, July 11 Tri Valley wins district 5 at all three levels!!! 13's Championship Game The 13 year olds battled back from a second round loss to defeat Fremont twice ... Wednesday, July 18 TRI-VALLEY BABE RUTH 13's FIGHT THROUGH LOSERS BRACKET TO WIN DISTRICT 5 TITLE After losing to Fremont on Saturday afternoon, Tri-Valley wins 3 straight, including two convincing wins over Fremont to claim District 5 title. Alex Rojas, Gunnar David, Tyler Hollander, Nate Vincent, and Andrew Hobson all hit over .450 leading a potent offense attack that outscored its 5 opponents 48 - 23. David, Hollander, Vincent, Shane Jackson, Evan Brisintine and Kyle Haggard led a solid pitching performance. Tri-Valley begins play at the state level July 14th at the College of Alameda.
