Just wanted to share a real neat soft toss machine that we purchased. (Ultimate Hitting Machine) My kids hit off it about 5 times a week for at least 1/2 hour a day. It has really improved their batting average. They love it but I think I love it more than them. I don't have to soft toss to them as much any more. I can just sit back and
observe.

King of the Hill Baseball
Pitching Lessons

King of the Hill Baseball, now entering the second year of operation, has acquired a new edition to lessons, a local indoor facility. With the luxury of giving lessons any time or day, it will make lessons run very smoothly.

During last summer, I was fortunate enough to give lessons to roughly 15 kids involved in Sherwood JBO. It was a great opportunity for me to work with the kids; teaching and at the same time learning. A common appeal to getting lessons from me is due to my current participation in collegiate baseball! The skills and techniques I am learning from my coaches are very much a part of my lessons.

One particular part of pitching I emphasize, which athletes young and old must know, is the “mental game” of baseball. It is possibly the most underrated, yet most crucial part in being a successful pitcher. Baseball is a game of failure. In the major leagues, the athletes fail 7 out of 10 times, yet still are considered the best! These lessons will not only aid these athletes in the technical and physical aspects of the game, but boost their self-confidence in themselves and the teammates around them!

Lessons are all 60 minute sessions and will be modified to fit the level and ability of the player. All sessions include a short warm-up (including playing catch), fundamental skill and technique training, various grip exercises, and short competition to keep the players having fun!

Overall, these lessons will help form players develop proper mechanics, be physically fit as a pitcher, and most importantly, be mentally tough. Additionally, if your child will continue to go through the Sherwood Baseball program, they will learn the skills and habits being taught at Sherwood High School.
