Classic Program - Description and Eligibility Requirements
TYBA also has a competitive program. Classic Basketball offers play at a higher competition level than recreational programs. Players are eligible to try out for this program when they are in the 5th-8th Grade. Team selection is by competitive tryout. Tryout does not guarantee a position on a Classic team. Players will play a minimum of one quarter per game. The duration of the classic basketball season is generally longer and the financial obligation to the family of the player is greater due to the travel, uniforms, and tournament expenses. The purpose of this program is to refine the skills of the players who will be transitioning to play at Tualatin High School. At the time of registration and try-outs, eligible players must reside in the Tualatin High School boundary.
Rec. Program - Description and Eligibility Requirements
TYBA offers recreational basketball experience to players in Grades 3-8. All interested players in these grades are welcome to participate. There are no "bench warmers" in this program, as every player plays at least half of every game. The recreational basketball program is design to provide fun in a positive sports environment for players and to provide the basic skills needed to play basketball. Players with above average skills can progress into Classic basketball and school teams when they are eligible. This program is designed for player development and enjoyment.
