Many of the sophomores and juniors participated in the Blue Star East Invitational Camp. The results of the girls toils this past year has shown in their high school season and for six of them, have produced full scholarships during the early signing period. We believe that this number will increase by the end of Spring signing period.

In 1992, our eighth year of operation, 57 girls participated in 13, 14, 15, and 16 year old and under age groups. As in the past few years, the Club operated as a camp program from March until late June and participated in a total of 95 games.
The Eagles' won the qualifying tournament in all age divisions but only elected to send the 16 old team to Clovis, New Mexico. The competition that we played was extremely high caliber as compared to other years. The benefits and rewards of this type of competition are not evident until the fall of their senior year of high school and the early or late signing for scholarships.
The Eagles participated in tournaments in Virginia, Maryland, New Hampshire, Philadelphia, Washington, New Jersey, and Ohio. Many of the sophomores participated in the Blue Star East Invitational Camp while the juniors attended the Blue State Mid-West Camp. The results this year show that seven girls obtained scholarships at major colleges or universities - a good investment for both parents and daughters.
1991
In 1991, seventy-eight girls were involved with the American Eagles Girls Basketball Club in four different age divisions. It was a very rewarding year with new faces, new enthusiasm, and as every year, new challenges for all the girls. The American Eagles fielded teams in the 13, 14, 15 and 16 year old brackets in the national qualifying tournament of the Adirondack Association AAU Junior Olympics. Four teams won the qualifying tournament and participated in AAU National Junior Olympics. The 13-year-old team participated in the AAU Junior Olympics National Tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio. For many of the girls it was a year of growth, for others it was a year of decision making. The 1992 season will show us the results of that growth as well as the decisions those girls made.
1990
In 1990, there was a total of 71 girls involved in our program at the four various age levels. It was also the final year of AAU participation for our 18-year-old team. At this time, all of these girls will be finishing up the first year of their full athletic scholarships at Division I Colleges and Universities. I'm sure many honors have and will be bestowed on each and every one of them this year as well as the year to come. The American Eagles' 18 ~ 16 year old teams won the right to compete in the National Championship in Chattanooga, TN and finished 9th and 27th respectively. In addition, the 16's played in Connecticut, Philadelphia, Syracuse, Canada and New York. Many of those girls will sign their letters of intent later this Spring. Anita Kaplan has signed at Stanford University, Amy Sherry at Kent State and Malaika Stewart at George Mason. The 15's won their qualifying tournament and played in the National Championship tournament in Shreveport, LA. This team also participated in the Hudson Valley Joust in the 16-year-old bracket and won the tournament. Other tournaments were in Philadelphia, Syracuse, Canada and Connecticut. The 13 year olds made up two teams. Some of these girls were 11 and 12-year-old. This group functioned as a team and as a camp. Some of the girls participated in Philadelphia and all the girls participated in the Hudson Valley Sumner Joust. We believe that it was an eye-opening experience for this group, dealing with the high level of competition they encountered.

The 18's won the Adirondack Qualifying Tournament which won them the right to compete in the National Tournament in Charleston, West Virginia. Both of these teams competed in the individual skill competition for each age group. There were twelve events and our girls captured seven first place awards. Overall, in 1989, our four teams competed in ninety three games from Canada to West Virginia.
