Handout: Personal Camping List

Daypack items to consider packing. Carry as many of these items as possible.

DAY HIKE OR DAYPACK CHECK LIST

The troop would like all Scouts to have a daypack on all campouts and especially hikes.  Daypacks come in many sizes and shapes as well color and materials.  If price is an Issue, then use an old book bag.  If price is not an issue then look into the camel back products.  They combine a daypack with a water system and they come in many different sizes.

The following list of items that you should carry in your daypack and are just the minimum!

Ø Extra clothing and socks

Ø Flashlight with extra batteries

Ø Field Survival Kit

Ø First aid kit with mole skin– small

The following list of extra items that you could carry in your daypack if you have room.
