RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR TROOP MEETINGS As the new Scouting season begins, I would like to remind you about some of the rules and guidelines that have been in place for the troop meetings. Ø The Scoutmaster is in charge at all Troop events and campouts. Ø The Senior Patrol Leader works with the Scoutmaster to run the troop. Ø Parents do not drop off your Scout/s in the parking lot without checking that there is a meeting and the two adult leaders are present. Ø Scouts are not permitted in the building or the gym unless there are two adults present and one of them is the Scoutmaster. Ø Parents are expected to come in at the end of meetings, about 8:50 p.m. This is the time when announcements are made and flyers are handed out. Ø Scouts need to get permission from the Scoutmaster or one of the Assistant Scoutmasters before using the bathroom or getting a drink; and one Scout at a time. Ø If the Scout misses a meeting, it is his responsibility to call his patrol leader for the flyers and for any information he may have missed. Ø If for any reason the troop meeting is cancelled due to poor weather conditions, a phone call will be made no later than 6:30 pm on Wednesday to the S. P. L. and to the P. L. Ø Scouts are expected to fulfill their position as a leader for the full Scouting season or you will loose that position. This could stop them from earning the next rank. Ø All merit badge books are available on a 30-day loan program to all active members of Troop 68. Furthermore, Scouts can only borrow one merit badge book at a time, except for summer camp. Ø Camping flyers and other relayed information can be downloaded from the troop website at http://eteamz.active.com/troop68unionnj/ Ø Parents, all payments to the troop must be made by checks. Please put your Scout’s name on the check, and what it is for, so we can make sure it is applied to the correct Scout. ________________________________________________________________ RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR CAMPOUTS As the new Scouting season begins, I would like to remind you about some of the rules and guidelines that have been in place for the campouts. They are: Ø The Senior Patrol Leader works with the Scoutmaster to run the troop.
