Francis Celebrates 50 years in Scouting

Francis McCarthy celebrated his 50th year in Scouting in 2006. He received his 50 year pin from former District Executive, Jeff Smith at the District Awards Dinner. Congratulations Francis!! Francis, along with 6 other gentlemen sat down on January 15, 1963 to discuss the organization of Troop 209. That document is shown above this article. We appreciate the time he has volunteered to the Troop. Thank you Francis!!

Francis McCarthy passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at his home at the age of 82. He & several gentlemen met on January 15th, 1963 to form Troop 209. He had been involved with scouting for 52 years. Francis will be greatly missed.
