Trinity Senior Rick Fosher has been selected to play for the New Hampshire team in the 2009 Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Football Game. The 6'4" 245 lb. TE-DE is one of 36 players selected to this years squad coached by Franklin H.S. coach Greg Husband. Husband led the Franklin Tornadoes to the D6 Championship this past season.
Twenty four of fifty five New Hampshire High Schools are represented on this years squad. Fosher joins Central H.S. teamates Jake Tremblay and Seamus O'neil as the three players selected from Manchester High Schools.
Fosher earned the 2008 OUTSTANDING LINEMAN AWARD at Trinity along with being named to the D5 ALL STATE TEAM. The two way standout was a devastating blocker at Tight End and led the defensive line in tackles and Quarterback sacks from his Defensive End position.
Trinity has now placed a player on the New Hampshire Shrine team in back to back seasons. Fosher joins Ryan Olsen class of 2008 who had an outstanding season as a scholarship football player at Saint Francis Xavier University in Canada this past fall.
According to Trinity Head Football Coach John Trisciani, " We are very happy for Rick and the honor he has brought to our school and football program. Rick has a very high motor and is a legitimate tough guy on the field. I think he's an All State player in any Division and a guy the Shrine coaches can count on to give a great effort."
Rick is the son of Rick and Kathy Fosher of Hooksett and a standout baseball player for the Pioneers.
