We are based out of Los Angeles, but also have players from both Santa Barbara and Orange County. We play games all over Southern California. We range in age from 19 to . . . well, older. Most of us played in college at either the varsity or club level. Our team is casual but competive and we are always looking for new players!
Our season begins in January and runs throughout the spring. The 2007 Season Schedule is available in the handouts section. We play many of the college teams in southern California as well as other post-collegiate clubs throughout the area. Regular season competition includes: San Diego Club, LMU, UCLA, USC, USCB, and Pepperdine.
We also travel to tournaments (mostly post-collegiate club tournaments) both in and out of season. Tournaments can include: Santa Barbara Shootout (Santa Barbara, February), San Diego Jam by the Sea (San Diego, April), Western States (Palo Alto, April), Lax Vegas (Las Vegas, September), Tahoe (Lake Tahoe, July), Northwest Invitational (Portland, April), Vail Shootout (Vail, July), Hawaii Tournament (Oahu, October). Most tournaments have both men's and women's teams competing and have lots of parties!
Regular season dues are $50 - which goes toward field space, ref fees, and other incidental expenses. We try to have at least 8 games every season. Uniforms are not included in dues and the cost varies from year to year.
We do not pick up "part time" players - meaning that if you want to play, you have to pay the full dues. However, we don't require you to comit to a certain amount of games. Once you have paid dues you are free to show up or not as you please. Tournaments are an additional fee, which varies depending on the tournament's entrance fee.
For insurance reasons, we require members to be US Lacrosse members. Membership is $50. You can sign-up here: http://www.uslacrosse.org/membership/index.phtml.
We don't usually have practice. If we do practice, attendance isn't mandatory and we try to couple it with a team event . . . e.g. beach practice in Hermosa and lunch/drinks on the pier afterwards.
We don't have try-outs - all are welcome! If you are interested in playing please fill out an application (available in the Handouts section) and email it to tricheck@gmail.com, or mail it to Jessica Bromall, 1900 Ave. of the Stars, 7th Floor, Los Angeles, California 90067. You can send dues to the same address or bring them to the first game/tournament you attend. Checks should be made out to Jessica Bromall.
Once your application is received you will be added to the team email list, and will receive information about upcoming games, as well as other lacrosse-related activities in Southern California. Please be sure to set your email account to allow email from both tricheck@gmail.com and evite.com - our email list is pretty big, and sometimes there are problems with spam filters . . .
