How many games do you play?
While the actual number of games played depends upon a number of factors, the following is a list of the scheduled number of games for each division, based on the number of teams the league fielded in the 2009 season. The number of participants and coaches will dictate the number of teams fielded for the coming season, field availability, rain outs/manager rescheduling availability and other factors may result in fewer scheduled games being played.  These numbers include practice games, but do not include the mid-season All-Star Game or the end of season In-House Tournament games, which may result in your child playing more than the scheduled games. Our season usually runs April through June, with the tournament ending by the first weekend in July.

CHALLENGER DIVISION
While we expect the Challenger Division to expand for the 2010 season, TCLL fielded four teams in the 2009 season that each played six games.

What do your fees include?
There are many things your child's fee includes: uniform, full season of games including an In-House All-Star game and a post season Tournament. Every child receives a trophy with additional trophies for champions and runners up in every division. League fees also allow us to maintain operations. These include: equipment, Field maintenance, umpire fees, insurance and Little League membership dues.

When will schedules come out?
Schedules come out at the beginning of April. Your coach will let you know what your game dates are as soon as they get the schedule.
Our season begins around April 18th and ends in the last weekend of June. You can count on playing one game during the week and one game on Saturday. Once the season begins, make up games for rainouts can be mixed in thought-out a week.

Can my child tryout for the higher-level league?
Children can participate up or down depending on skill.

What is the process to play up?
Players can ONLY play up with a proper tryout and evaluation of skill set.  For example, a 6 year old can play Instructional only if they have two years of t-ball experience.  Any 8 year old can tryout for Minors, but must be scored high enough during the tryout process. To play in Majors, you need a minimum score of 15 during tryouts based on hitting, throwing, fielding, pop ups and running in accordance to Little League guidelines.
The league's Players Agent must be notified ahead of time as to the intention to play at an upper level. The league Players Agent and League President will make a final decision.

Can my child play down if my child is not ready?
Being 11 does not automatically qualify you for Majors; likewise being nine years old does not automatically qualify you for Minors.  We try to place the children where they will be successful and refine the needed tools for the next level. However, children age 13 and older cannot participate in a lower division.

Is there a tryout?
In most cases, T-Ball and Instructional players do not try out. Every effort is made to group children by neighborhood and/or school. Special requests are collected during the registration process, and we try to honor those during selection for ages 8 and below. Instructional Players are requested to participate in our Instructional Clinic.

Players participating in Minors (Baseball and Softball), Majors (Baseball and Softball) and Juniors must have a tryout. Their selection on teams for 9 year olds and up is based on skill. We try our best to distribute talent, so your child may be placed on a team that he does not know anyone. Generally, they will know someone, and it is great opportunity to meet new friends and families.

Seniors and Bigs do not have tryouts.

How does a player get picked to be on All-Stars?
In Tri-Cities your child may have the opportunity to be selected for our post season All-Star teams. Tryouts are usually held toward the end of May and the roster is revealed toward the middle of June. Selections for the tournament (All-Star) teams will be made based on the following criteria:

a. All-Star tryout scores.
b. The manager and coaches’ evaluations of the player’s skill and performance.
c. Availability for tournament team practices and games.
d. Specific skills needed to complement the team.

The top six scoring during the tryouts will automatically be selected on the team based on availability.  Players scoring 7-18 from the tryout process will be considered for selection for the remaining six positions. The All-Star manager will have the opportunity to fill the remaining six positions based on a., b., c. and d. above. The All-Star manager has the opportunity to bring in a panel of 4-5 managers and coaches to assist in the selection process. The panel will be approved by the board and not include any manager or coach with a child in the respective age group. All selections are approved by the player agent and considered final upon posting. All stars is an honor and is not guaranteed. Only players in good financial standing can tryout for all-stars.
