Our Code and Preamble

We, the Tri-Cities Little League of Illinois believe that athletic competition should be fun. Additionally, we believe that those who manage/coach athletes, first and foremost, have a duty to assure that their teams impart important life skills and promote the development of good character. We want to ensure that the games are fair, positive and enjoyable experiences for all the children and adults involved. A baseball/softball game should be friendly and unifying,
a spirited social and athletic occasion for players, coaches, umpires
and spectators.

Preamble:

The essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied
in the concept of sportsman and six core principles:

Trustworthiness
Respect
Responsibility
Fairness,
Caring, and
Good Citizenship

The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects these “six pillars of character".
