The freshmen bulldogs had a solid season with a 7-2 record. After a heartbreaking 20-12 loss to Sierra in week 1, the Dogs got their act together and rattled off wins against Beyer 24-16, Kimball 29-14, West 27-16, Pitman 6-0, and Lodi 35-0. Playing for league dominance, the Dogs got off to horrific start against Lincoln and could never over take Lincoln losing 41-20. After that disappointment, the Dogs finished strong playing two J.V. teams and defeating Delhi 35-7 and Orestimba 41-0.
This type of start for the class of 2016 will pay significant divdends for the Bulldog football program as these kids progress over the next 3 years.
I enjoyed covering several of your games this year with my camera. Sorry I could not get to all the away games but look for a season in review movie coming soon at your banquet....congratulations.... STU

HORRIFIC START FOR FRESHMAN BULLDOGS DIGS TOO DEEP A HOLE
|
| Freshman | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | TOTAL |
| Lincoln Trojans | 28 | 0 | 6 | 7 | 41 |
| Tracy Bulldogs | 7 | 7 | 6 | 0 | 20 |
The Tracy freshmen dug a big, (I mean BIG) hole for themselves in the first few minutes of the game. In an amazing series of events, the Bulldogs turned the ball over on 3 of their first four possessions and Lincoln capitalized on the first four series they touched the ball. Down 28-0 with 2:34 left in the first quarter, it looked like it was going to be an extremely depressing game for the Dogs in front of a homecoming week crowd. CJ Hawkins finally gave Tracy fans something to cheer about when he returned a kickoff 95 yards to make it 28-7 with his extra point late in the first quarter.
From that point on, Tracy seemed to wake up from their "shell shock" appearance and play and began to hit harder and execute plays offensively from the line of scrimmage. Lincoln seemed to look normal again and the game then played out a little more even.
With 1 minute left in the first half, Hawkins found Armondo Gonzalez in the end zone on a pass to make it 28-14 at halftime. Gonzalez caught another pass in the 3rd quarter to give Tracy 21 points but Lincoln kept extending their lead and would eventually put 41 on the board.
Thomas Greely was 9 of 24 passing for 102 yards and 1 TD. He ran for 5 yards on 4 carries. There was no Tracy rusher who had greater than 5 yards of rushing.
Gonzales had 4 receptions for 77 yards and 2 TDs.
The leading Tracy defender was Nathaniel Turner Kevin Saenz, and Conner Johnson with 5 tackles. CJ Hawkins had 4.

Coaches Comments: "It's really difficult to be successful when you give up 28 points to start a game and 21 of them are turnovers at our end of the field," said Coach Fishburn postgame. "They were shell shocked at first by what they saw on the field, but once they realized they could play with them, they were okay." Coach Fishburn called out Armondo Gonzalez. "He had a good game on offense. Nathaniel Turner was just good all over. Turner and CJ have been the backbone of our team to this point." Fishburn also highlighted the play of Kevin Saenz on defense.

BULLDOG FRESHMEN SHUTOUT LODI IN THURSDAY NIGHT ACTION

Tracy put the pressure on Lodi early with 14 points in the first quarter and the Bulldog defense never let Lodi generate any threats into the red zone throughout the entire game as Tracy dominated the Flames 35-0 on Thursday night. Conner Johnson had two rushing touchdowns on the night. He scored the first one with 4:59 remaining in the first quarter when he ran it in from 13 yards out. With time running out in the first quarter, CJ Hawkins returned a punt from midfield to give Tracy a 14-0 lead after one quarter of play (2 point conversion good on a Hawkins run).
The Tracy defense did not allow Lodi to generate any significant drives throughout most of the game. Tracy would take a 14-0 lead into halftime.
Johnson scored early in the 3rd quarter on a 18 yard run. The Hawkins extra point was good and it was now 21-0.
On the 2nd Lodi play of the 4th quarter, Amondo Gonzalez picked off a Lodi pass and ran approximately 50 yards for a score to make it 28-0. The final Tracy score would come with 4 minutes left when Nathaniel Turner had a 47 yard rushing touchdown.
Leading the Bulldogs on defense was Johnson with 7 tackles and Hawkins with 5. Katari Edwards also had a good game providing pressure all night which kept the Lodi quarterback off balance.

FRESHMEN DOGS DEFEAT PREVIOUSLY UNDEFEATED PITMAN 6-0
This game was a nail biter. "It came right down to the last minute," said Coach Jay Fishburn. "Our defense was outstanding and kept us in the game. We played as a team and not as individuals and when you do that, good things are going to happen. We saw the reward for that on the scoreboard on Thursday night," said Fishburn.
"If all 11 players on the field at any one time do their job and trust their teammates to do theirs, we will continue to be successful."
"It was a big win and the players earned it!"

Tracy freshmen dominated this evening and quickly got out to a 20-0 lead that they carried into halftime. The 3rd quarter was quiet as each team traded field position around mid field. In the 4th, West mounted a 2 score comeback but Tracy added on and then chewed the clock to seal the deal. Coach Fishburn was proud of his team and reminded them that Tracy was now "back to back to back" crosstown champions for 3 years in a row winning against Kimball and West.

| Tracy Bulldogs | 6 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 12 | |
| Sierra Timberwolves | 6 | 14 | 0 | 0 | 20 |
Due to confusion over the start time of the game, the Bulldogs were apparently late for a 5 p.m. kickoff, with little time to prepare, the Dogs made the best of it and scored on their first posession when Connor Johnson had a 64 yard run on the 2nd play from scrimmage which setup a 16 yard TD run by Trent Cox. The dogs gave six points right back on a pick 6 to the Sierra linebacker. In the 2nd quarter Sierra scored on a running play and Tracy pulled to within 2 on a nice run by CJ Hawkins. In the 2nd half the Dogs could not find the endzone although they came within 10 yards of making it a close game when they had a nice drive that stalled at the Sierra 10 with 2 minutes left.
Tracy had 189 rushing yards 37 receiving yards and Quarterback Trent Cox was 4 for 8 with 2 interceptions and 1 fumble. Top rushers were Conner Johnson iwth 73 yards on 5 carriers, Cox with 47 yards, Hawkins with 45, and Nathaniel Turner with 27.
