Coach Fishburn Looks On As The Final Freshman Home Game Goes South

Tracy got a quick score from Dylan Anderson on a keeper in the first series, but then Tracy began to kill their own drives with sloppy ball handling and penalties.  Lodi creeped back into the game and solidified their defense to put their thumb on Tracy the rest of the way.

For our freshman team, news was released Thursday that they will now join forces with the JV team form a blended team for the final game at West next Friday at 5 p.m.

TRACY FRESHMEN LOSE TO ST. MARY'S

On the first drive of the game Tracy put together a good series of run/pass plays to get down to the St. Mary's 15 yard line before the long drive stalled.   Not much else happened offensively for the Dogs all night until late in the game when another good drive was put together culminating in a Tyler Ward rushing touchdown around the right side.  St. Mary's put the pressure on the Tracy defense all night with a strong running and long passing game.

The freshman bulldogs faced the Trojans on Thursday evening and Lincoln showed why they were undefeated in 2018 as their big fast bodies manhandled Tracy in many aspects of the game.  Dylan Anderson scored on a keeper late in the first quarter and Austin Ho-Sy scored in the 4th on a short run.

Tracy freshmen got their first league win and Dylan Anderson fell in love with the Grape Bowl as he had spectacular night carrying the ball there.

On the first play from scrimmage, Anderson held on to the ball and ran 80 yards for the first Bulldog touchdown. The extra point by Kyle Wright was good. 7-0.

After some solid defense, Austin Ho-Sy fielded a punt at the Tracy 45 and had a stellar run for 6 points. Contributing to the touchdown was a dynamic block by Anthony Gomez.   The extra point was good 14-0.

Midway through the 2nd quarter, Anderson had a 8 yard quarterback keeper to make it 20-0. With a penalty on special teams, Kyle Wright was forced to kick a long extra point that was good.

The Tracy defense played an awesome first half keeping the Tigers in check with minimal positive yardage.   The score at the half was 21-0.

After the Tracy defense stopped Tokay to start the 3rd quarter, Dylan Anderson had a 32 yard keeper for his 3rd touchdown of the game. The extra point was blocked. 27-0.

On the next Tracy possession, Anderson took the ball from scrimmage at the Tracy 41 and stiffed armed his way free for a 59 yard touchdown and his 4th score of the game. The kick was no good. 33-0.

It was all Tracy defense from that point forward until Tokay mustered a touchdown with time expiring in the game.

The win placed the dogs at 1-0 in league and 3-3 overall.

FRESHMEN HAVE BAD NIGHT IN MANTECA WITH 32-6 LOSS

Coach Jay Fishburn was disappointed on Thursday night with several aspects of what unfolded in Manteca.  "We played way below our potential and had some unfortunate behavior on the field," said Fishburn.

The Freshmen will return home next Thursday to play Los Banos at 6 p.m.

Under Fall like temperatures the freshman started a bit like where they ended last week with loose ball handling and tentative play, but after a few minutes of play, the competitive light kicked on and confidence settled into the offense and defense giving the Bulldogs a dominant performance through most of the game against the Thunder.

After getting stunned on an early Kimball score, the Tracy freshman rebounded and executed a series of touchdowns to take an early 20-6 lead over the Jaguars.  It appeared as though the Dogs were going to put together a strong game in their debut on a rowdy Friday night.  Slowly but surely though the Jaguars evened the score and then took a 26-7 lead in the 3rd.   The Bulldogs began to put together a dominant drive late in the game and Coach Fishburn and staff were confident they would win this game as the final minute was in their control.  A fumble near the goal line spelled disaster for the Bulldogs as Kimball celebrated a Game 1 victory at Wayne Schneider Stadium.
