TRACY JV TAKE GAME ONE OVER WEST 3-2
The JV team pleased Coach Bauer today. "It was the first game all season we have been error free. I guess it is better late than never," said Bauer. "We had a well pitched game today by Devin Williams who went 6 innings giving up 1 hit and Donovan Treolo who saved the game getting a strikeout with the tying run at 2nd. We had good defense today."
Williams also helped himself at the plate going 2-3 with a double and a triple. Brendan Terry had a nice single up the middle to knock in Devin which would be the winning run in 5th inning.
"Robert Crivello just missed a homerun in the 2nd inning by a foot, but he followed that up with an excellent push bunt single," said Bauer.

SOPHOMORES LOSE 9-5 AT ST. MARY'S
Coaches Comments: "We struggled to overcome a bad first inning. We had an error in the first defensive play, and then before we knew it, we were down by five. We kept fighting and chipped away today but we could not get all the way back. Their starter was good, but we could have done so much more at the plate and really inflicted some damage. We got some of our guys on base today but we struck out too much because we did not have good discipline at the plate. We did not do the little things right today."
"Robert Crivello did a good job on the mound today He pitched four innings and gave up seven earned runs and 2 walks. We did not play good defense behind him to provide him the support he needed. Alejandro De La Torre was solid behind the plate throwing a runner out. Jonathon Patino went 1 1/3 innings and then Conner Johnson came in and did a good job containing the damage of an inning that could have been worse."
"Matt Giuliacci ripped the ball four times at the plate today and had nothing to show for it in the stat sheet. He had great at bats. I felt bad for him for as well as he made contact today," said Coach Bauer.
Coach Bauer also praised Ray Bicomong who entered the game unexepectedly. "He went 0-0 with 2 walks and a run scored. Ray played a nice first base and a solid two at bats working 11 pitches."

"It may only be two games, but we have ourselves a winning streak," said Coach Bauer. Bauer was very pleased with the performance of his team today against Antioch. "It's not just the winning numbers on the board, it's the fact that we are coming together as a team and developing some of the traits of a winning ball club such as communication and teamwork," said Bauer. "I'm confident we are going to get several more wins in the next week because of the way we are doing the little things."
In the 2nd inning Dax Dibble walked, stole 2nd and 3rd and scored on a passed ball. Devin Williams was awesome on the mound going the first seven innings of the game and striking out 9. He gave up 5 hits and 3 runs. "He was like a video game, locating his pitches all around the zone and attacking. His changeup was great," said Coach Bauer.
Robert Crivello pitched the final inning to get the save allowing just 1 hit and 1 run.
"We really attacked the strike zone with our pitching staff for the first time all year and then on offense we very aggressive," said Bauer. Our defense shined today too. A similar outfield assist happened in the 8th when Giuliacci got a runner on second out at home with strike to the plate.

JV TEAM WINS 17-9 WITH LATE INNING SURGE OVER MOUNTAIN HOUSE
With the game tied at 9 heading into the 7th, the Tracy JV Bulldogs pulled ahead with a huge final inning to get a decsive 17-9 victory. Coach Bauer still saw plenty of things requiring improvement in the teams early season win. "We have got to better at making the routine plays. We have to be quicker and more accurate with our decision making. We did hit the heck out of the ball today, had a good approach at the plate, and were smart on the basepaths," said Coach Bauer."

TOO MANY STRIKEOUTS ALLOW KIMBALL TO EDGE TRACY JV
The Tracy JV team was plagued by too many strikeouts in their 2018 debut as they could only muster two runs on two hits. Kimball would generate all the runs they needed in the top of the 3rd to defeat the Bulldogs. Kiernan Davis got things started for the Bulldogs when he hit a deep ball to score Devin Williams. Devin scored in the 6th when he reached on a single and scored on a passed ball.
"We struck out 11 times and could only generate 2 hits," said Coach Bauer. I did take a positive away in terms of of the improvement I saw in our defense from the first scrimmage earlier in the week, but there is still a lot to build on. We left five bulldogs on base today."
The starting pitcher was Kyle Mulhern who threw 3 innings, striking our 3 and walking 1. Marcus Corso took the loss going 2 2/3 inning and striking out 4. Devin Williams had a brief appearance and then Matt Pombo threw the final 1 1/3 innings, striking out two.

JV DISAPPOINTED IN MANTECA LOSING IN THE 7TH 4-3
Coach Bauer was a bit frustrated in his postgame comments, but he did start off with some positives. I thought Robert Crivello pitched well. He went 5 innings giving up just one earned run. He kept Manteca off balance with his pitch selections. We made the plays defensively we were suppose to behind him on defense and we had a chance to win this going into the final inning leading 3-1, but we let things unravel at the end. We have to be mentally stronger as a team. We beat ourselves today in this game."
The JV Bulldogs had the bases loaded three times with nothing to show for it including the 2nd inning when they had no outs with the bases juiced. "We left 11 runners on base today and 7 of them were in scoring position," said Bauer.
Crivello went 1-4 with a double to lead off the game. Matthew Giuliacci had one single but hit the ball hard each time up to the plate. Jonathan Patino was 3-4 with a run scored. Blake Ornellas was 1-1 with a triple and got hit by Manteca pitching twice.
