STRIDE SPACING

DRILL DESCRIPTION:

To get better results, it is important to have a longer second to last stride and then a shorter last stride before take off. You must lengthen your second to last stride and shorten the last. This will lower you center of gravity and put you in a better position to jump. The idea is for your 3rd to last to be a medium stride, followed by a long stride and then a short stride. So take towels and space them out accordingly on the runway. Start from a standing position and get the footwork down for medium, long and short. Then start from your nine stride marker point and put it all together making sure to keep proper technique on the last 3 strides.
