FIGURE EIGHT

Drill description:
Mark out a 20 yard course using flags and set them in a figure eight position where the athlete has to run in a figure eight to complete the course. When running to the right, lean to the right and conversely, when running to the left, lean to the left. Make sure to lean into the curve on the run up so the body weight is on the inside of the curve each time. Do not lean too much or else you will stumble. Try to run as fast as you can and lean into the curve. Again, this will help accustom you to the curved run up approach used when doing the fosbury flop.
