Drill description:
Set the bar in front of the long jump pit and have the jumpers run up and do a standing squat jump over the bar and land in the sand. Try to keep the torso of the jumper as straight as possible. The idea is to get the jumpers to jump straight up and not forward on their first motion. Drive up off the ground powerfully and swing the leading leg and arms upward. Try to stretch and extend at takeoff and keep the head up. Jump about 1-2 feet from the bar.
