SIMULATED STARTS

Drill description:
Runner stands and goes into position when the coach calls "on your mark." Upon the "set" call, the runner raises his butt in the air and assumes position. At this point, the coach should take a look at your form and make any corrections necessary. At the coach's signal, runner sprints 15 yards. It is important for coaches to vary the times in between their starting calls so runners purely react and do not fall into a timing rhythm
Keys: Arms need to be shoulder width apart with thumb and fore finger forming a V. Shoulders are slightly ahead of hands. Make sure to really pump the legs at the go command.
