BOX JUMPS

Drill description:
This type of movement is also called plyometrics. It helps to develop explosiveness and power. Set up 2 boxes or platforms (2-3 feet tall) about 3 feet apart and in a line. Starting behind one, jump up and land on top of it. Immediately jump down (forward) so you are now in the middle of the two boxes. Jump up on the second and then jump down to the other side. Drive the arms to help get height and power. Bring the knees into the chest to keep your feet above the box level.   These rebound jumping drills can be very strenuous and should only be performed by physically mature bodies. Adjust the height of the boxes to the height and age of the athlete.
