Columbus Day Jamboree Named in Honor of Youth Soccer Co-Founders:
The Soccer Club of Newington Honored Dale Reese Sr. and Robert Potter in a Ceremony kicking off the annual Columbus Day Weekend Recreational Soccer Jamboree. Mr. Reese and Mr. Potter started the youth soccer program in Newington in 1960, and this celebration officially begins the 50th year of Youth Soccer in Newington. Mr Potter recently passed away, and his children, Bob, Lauren, and Ken were there to represent the Potter family. Dale Reese Sr. was joined by Dale Reese Jr. in accepting the honor for the Reese family. Countless Newington Youth owe a debt of gratitude to these men for bringing the game of soccer to Newington.
