Science Hill has a rich golf tradition, having won multiple state championships.The latest championship being in 2003. In 2004 the Toppers won the Conference Tournament and were runners up in the District. The 2006 Topper golf team won the Conference Championship, District Title ,Region Championship and were Runner-ups at the State AAA High School Championships. Returning for the Toppers in 2007 are seniors Dane Voss and Jared Songster and junior Michael Hembree. 2007 Edition of Topper Golf Wins Another Conference Title
The 2007 edition of "topper golf" found a way to carry on tradition. This year marks the 14th title out of the last 15 years for Science Hill golf! This years team is young and maybe a bit inexperienced in tournament play but that didn't seem to matter on Monday at Warrior's Path. The team shot 303 and defeated runner-up Dobyns Bennett by 5 shots. Individually Science Hill had 5 of the 6 golfers in the 70's. If the tournament had ended after 9 holes the toppers would have won by a whopping 12 strokes! The toppers were 3 under par as a team. This is by far their best performance of the year. Science Hill Varsity 2007-2008
Congratulations to the following players for making the 2007-2008 Science Hill Varsity Golf Team! Science Hill golfer does well National competition
Senior, Dane Voss recently finished T-9 in the American Junior Golf Association's Lessings Classic on Long Island, NY. Dane shot rounds of 71-74. There were 73 golfers competing from 22 states and 3 foriegn countries. Congrats Dane! |
