To assure efficient processing, ALL football and cheerleading registrations can be completed online at the Lakota Tomahawks web site.
When registering, please read all instructions carefully. Your registration will not be processed unless fee payment is also authorized.

Questions? ... the following FAQ's should prove helpful:
How much are registration fees?
For football, the first player is $90 ... each sibling is $65. An additional fee payment of approximately $40 per player will be due in June when equipment is issued.
For cheerleading, the first cheerleader is $150 ... each siblng is $125.
NOTE: a $5 service charge is added to online fee processing.
Do we also have to pay for equipment?
NO. Excluding cleats, all practice and game uniforms and customary equipment are provided.
When is the deadline to register for the 2008 season?
For football ... Grades 3 thru 6 ... Although the draft was in March, registrations are still being accepted.
For football ... Grades 1 and 2 ... May 4, 2008. Skill Evaluations & Draft on May 4 (see below).
For cheerleading ... All Grades ... April 10, 2008. Cheerleaders also have a mandatory uniform fitting scheduled for April 10.
All registrations are processed on a "first come / first served" basis.
Are team assignments made by Age or Grade Level?
Teams are assembled by Grade Level. However, players must also meet age and weight guidelines.
How many Tomahawk teams are there at each Grade?
Can we elect to participate at a different Grade Level?
NO. Your Grade Level for the 2008-09 scholastic school year will determine your Tomahawk Grade Level.
My child is entering 7th Grade ... is he/she eligible?
NO. Regardless of age, size or maturity, your child must participate at the Junior High level.
My child is entering Kindergarten ... is he/she eligible?
YES. The child may participate at the Grade 1 level. However, your child must also remain at the Grade 1 level in 2009.
My child attends a private school ... is he/she eligible?
YES. You are eligible provided your primary residence is within the geographic boundaries of the Lakota Local School District ... or ... the child is enrolled at a Lakota Local school.
Can we register for, or request, a specific Team?
NO. To maintain competetive balance and talent parity, the Tomahawks utilize a Draft System. All new players receive team assignments via the Draft process.
Our neighbor is a Tomahawk ... can we be on his Team?
No guarantee. Your child will have to enter the Draft. At best, you'll have a 25% chance of being Drafted to your neighbor's team.
We have twins ... will they be on the same Team?
YES. Provided they're in the same Grade, as the first child is Drafted, the second is automatically assigned to the same Team.
How does the DRAFT work?
You'll be expected to participate in a Skills Evaluation for your Grade Level. Coaches will be on hand to assess abilities. The Draft will be held that evening to select participants to Teams.
My child is not a great athlete ... will he be Drafted?
YES. The Skills Evaluation is not a pass or fail scenario. All participants will be Drafted. No child is excluded.
When is the Skills Evaluation?
For Grades 3 thru 6 ... March 16, 2008 ... changed to Lakota East gymnasium. Go to Home page for reporting times.
For Grades 1 and 2 ... May 4, 2008 ... changed to Lakota West gymnasium.
Specific times for each Grade Level will be posted as they are finalized.
What happens if we miss our Skills Evaluation?
Absentees, by blind pick, are randomly assigned to Teams until all roster spots are filled. If roster caps for each Grade Level are reached, any remaining registrations are added to a Waiting List.
What happens if we register after the Skills Evaluation?
If roster spots are open at your Grade level, you'll be randomly assigned to a Team. If no spots are available, you'll be added to a Waiting List.
I'm on a Waiting List ... how do I get on a Team?
As we approach the season, roster spots often become available. Changes to a family's vocational, economic or domestic status are typical reasons.
As these roster spots open, they are automatically filled from the Waiting List. Registrations are date stamped as processed and assigned to Teams in the same order (first come / first served).
I don't particularly care for my coach ... what can I do?
No options exist for the current season.
Next season, you may declare "Draft" when you register. Your child will then enter the Draft process for Team reassignment.
