Player Strike Puts NK TG In Turmoil
IvanGrubisic
Cousin Ive Continues His Hold-Out.
In the best of times, NK TG used to run wild on their opponents and record very easy victories. Times however have changed and the recent player strike by the Grubisic clan has caused much turmoil and turned this once dominant franchise into a mediocre soccer entity.

After probably the biggest victory in NK TG history, the team went up against upstarts Oakville Strikers on February 2nd. The Strikers had basically the same make-up of the Finest; a bunch of younger players with speed, skill and determination. TG’s play was sloppy to say the least and they paid for it dearly with a 7-2 drubbing. It was the worst defeat in NK TG history and was one of the darkest moments in team history.

A week later NK TG took on one of the weaker sides in the league in Liverpool. At first it looked to be an easy 3 points and a nice bounce back from the Strikers match. Instead TG fell behind quickly and Liverpool then decided to play back and protect the one goal advantage. While NK TG did amount a serious attack, they were unable to break through until Kory Jazbec finally ended the goal scoring drought midway through the second half.   TG then presented a furious attack in the closing minutes but could not get one by the Liverpool keeper. The 1-1 draw was another disappointment and the fans were calling for Rados to end the player dispute immediately.

As the strike now enters its fourth week, it has become clear that the Grubisic clan is refusing to move off its stance. Despite this hard stance on the elimination of the Monaghan’s cap, Rados also refuses to budge and an impasse appears imminent.

A press conference has been scheduled for tomorrow at 1 PM where Rados is expected to announce that the team will be using “replacement players” for the duration of the season.    Rados was quoted as saying, “This is ridiculous. I’m not going to stand pat any longer. If the players on this team no longer wish to perform, I’m going to bring in players that will.”

NK TG only has 4 points through 4 games this season and another slip-up or two could cost the team a playoff berth!   Stay tuned as this situation will get very interesting in the next 24 hours.
