No Coach, No Grubisic's, No Geo, No Girls.... NO PROBLEM!!!

NK TG was hit with a flurry of team dilemmas on the day of their game with their arch-nemesis Oakville's Finest. It was learned at approximately 2:00 PM from the agent of the chocolate milk drinkers (a.k.a the Grubisic's), that they were holding out for session 2 in demand that the Monaghan’s Cap, which is currently set at no less than 3 absences, be revoked or increased to a reasonable level. It was first learned that the brothers T.Dot and Jerns were first to back-out and then their cousin, Junior, felt obligated to back-out as well, as immense pressure came from their agent and gas price inflation.
On that note, GM Rados was not going to let his guard down and was chaotic on the phone trying to find replacements in time for the big game but all phone calls fell short. NK TG were to approach the game with their seasoned veterans. With Coach Niko Peric in Minnesota at the 25th annual Purple Pepper Conference and NK TG's eldest statesman, Geo, missing in action, NK TG were forced to scramble and maximize their line-up with the remaining players.
It was game time. NK TG held back for the first 5 minutes awaiting for Oakville’s Finest attack and then countered with all their resources. It worked as Kory Jazbec finished home a lovely one-two with the Protractor", Nick Knez, off a free kick to make the score 1-0. Oakville's Finest later scored to tie the game 1-1 going into halftime. At the start of the half, NK TG were on a powerplay but couldn't capitalize and the score remained 1-1. Then the action began. NK TG had most of their forces in the defensive zone while Finest were attacking and an errand pass from Finest fell to the feet of Jazbec who shot the ball up the field that found the "Protractor", who angled his run behind the defense and was on a breakaway. While approaching the goalie, he measured the best angle for him to score on and while NKTG members were screaming "Acute Acute", the "Protractor" fired home an obtuse angle shot that found the corner of the net. NK TG 2 FINEST 1.
Finest were mounting the pressure and NK TG's Boozer was forced to draw a penalty. Finest were not able to score, however, Jazbec and the "Protractor" were on a 2-1 and an acute angled pass was buried home by Jazbec to make the score 3-1. NK TG were then handed a 4 minute penalty for tripping and that's where NKTG's penalty killing crew stepped up. The defensive unit of Milan Uzelac, Bako, and Bilic and the midfield threesome of Rob Turudic, Jazbec and Boozer held the fort as Rados and the "Protractor" were doing everything in their power to forecheck Finest defense. NK TG prevailed behind the stellar goaltending of Bolts and defeated Oakville's Finest 3-1!
NK TG celebrated at Monaghans with one of their latest outings in some time. It was a good character building game and we'll see how they perform next week after such a high.
