Guess Who's Back, Back again!
RUETERS - NK TG president Ivan Rados held a press conference on Monday afternoon to confirm the long speculated rumour that the team was in fact returning for its 6th season. Accompanied by head coach Niko Peric, the two addressed the medias questions and concerns about the coming season.
"We are coming back and we are ready to take back our title! Rados proclaimed. The team is ready to avenge our first defeat and we want to hoist the trophy yet again. Oakvilles Finest has just been babysitting our trophy for us. Now its time that we bring it home.
NK TG starts off its sixth season with some notable changes. Gone are the Kulis brothers who are now with NK Hrvatski Vitez. To help fill their void, NK TG has signed striker Chris Sliskovic from Vitez. The team has also brought aboard an official doctor/manager in Danny Benic (formerly with Karlovac United). How the team performs with the loss of two of its top goalscorers from previous season remains to be seen. Sliskovic will help fill the void but many wonder if NK Tomislavgrad will have the firepower to win another title.
While the opening night roster has been set, Rados also would not kill speculation that another marquee signing was on the horizon. After being asked the question, he simply smiled and stated you will all just have to wait and see what we have in store.
Certainly tensions are high for this season in a new league that sees only 6 teams in the Premier League but four of the 6 are Croatian teams. There will certainly be some rivalries and some tension on the field and none bigger than he opening night contest against Vitez! The game will mark the first time NK TG has faced a team with former NK TG players on it. It will also be a rematch of last seasons epic semi-final that saw NK TG erase a 2 goal deficit with 5 minutes remaining to win 3-2. Action gets under way on Wednesday night at 9:25 PM. This is definitely one match you wont want to miss.
