Toledo Cherokee u16: Welcome


Welcome to the home of the 3 TIME defending Ohio State Champion and 2 TIME USA Hockey Nationals Quarterfinalist Toledo Cherokee Midget Minor Hockey Club.  Our team is proud to represent the Greater Toledo Amatuer Hockey Association and we practice out of the Team Toledo Ice House.  We are members of the Yzerman Divison of the LCAHL and travel throughout North America in search of the best competition for our players.  If you are interested in scheduling games with our team, please contact Coach Kelly Koester at 


Fall Tryouts

The defending 3 time Ohio State Champions will be holding Tryouts on May 21st at 8:30 pm. Tryouts will be open to all 1998 and 1999 birth year players interested in competing on a top level team for the Fall 2014/2015 season.  The skate will be 80 minutes and cost $15 per player.

State Champs!

The Toledo Cherokee Midget Minor AA team take home the Ohio State Championship for the third year in a row. The boys went 4-0 in their run to the title, capping off the tournament with a win against Team Ohio 4-0 on Sunday afternoon. The U-16 Cherokee did not allow an even strength goal against in the tournament, outscoring their opponents 22-4 on the weekend. The boys will represent the State of Ohio at the USA Hockey Tier II National Tournament April 2-6 in Reston, Virginia. Congratulations to all of the players on the weekend success and good luck at Nationals!

TC with big win at the Winter Chill Outdoor Festival

With temperatures hovering in the teens, the U-16 team wins an important league game during the Winter Chill Outdoor Festival.   Played at the Ottawa Park Ice Rink, the Midget Minor Cherokee pulled out their retro sweaters and beat a quality Summit Plastics team 5 - 0.
