Danny Williams Receives World Series Recommendation
Just got word from Danny Williams - he has obtained his World Series recommendation - congratulations Danny for your accomplishment. He will be at 1st base in the championship...and had the plate for one of the semi-finals. Way to go Danny!!

State Tournaments Completed - 7/17/09
The 11 & 12 Softball State tournament comes to completion. Thanks to Unicoi County for hosting an excellent tournament, all teams participating, and District 5 volunteer umpires.
Congratulations to the Morristown 10 & 11 Year Old team for winning the State Championship!!!

2009 District Tournaments Completed - 7/14/09
2009 Tournament brackets are complete. Please select the handout below to review brackets. Any questions contact Roy Smith at 426-4673 or email question to rlsmith@hotwater.com. As revisions occur they will be listed in RED. Good luck to all the teams!
6/19/09 - Typo corrected for Zone 2 - 9 & 10 BB - Johnson County 2 will be playing Fairview instead of original posting of Jonesborough 2 (game #2). Correction 9 & 10 BB District will be held in Carter County as drawn on the 14th. Note: The Zone 1 - 9 & 10 BB and Zone 2 - 11 & 12 BB brackets have changed from the drawings conducted on June 14th due to South Holston teams pulling out of the tournament (changes was incorporated with original brackets postings).
6/24 - Revision 1 - 11 & 12 SB District brackets changed - Jonesborough dropped from tournament.
6/25 - Revision 2 - JR District BB - JC Majors dropped from tournament.
6/30 - Revision 3 - JR District BB - JC National dropped from tournament.
7/1 - Revision 4 - 11 & 12 District SB - As of now we have only five teams registered for state tournament - if this remains true the top two teams from District 5 will participate - thus championship game will not be played.
7/7 - Revision 5 - SR District BB - Jonesborough dropped from tournament.

TN District 5 2009 tournaments are complete. Each team worked hard to obtain their division championship. As the championships are won we would like to congratulate the champion's as well as each of the teams and all the players that participated for every player is a winner in our eyes!!!!

The 2009 tournaments are right around the corner. The district held their meeting to determine the locations of the tournaments for this year on June 14th. Each league was represented at the meeting. Locations and brackets were determined and will be posted on the web site.

ASAP
Thanks to all the leagues for completeing the ASAP plans for this district. Congratulaltions to Unico County Little League for being the winner of the National program presented at the Little League World series. They have won a new set of lights ($25,000) for a little league field, trip for four to the Little League World Series. It can be done. Again thank you to all the leagues of this district for helping make this district 100% and let's have another national winner in 2009.
