2009 Annual Dinner Wraps up Another Great Season!!!
The 2009 TND5UA Annual Dinner was held on September 8th. A great evening of dinner and fellowhip was enjoyed by all of those who attended. Experiences were shared by those who had been to a regional tournament and John Mashburn shared his experiences while umpiring the Little League World Series. Each member that attended was awarded a certificate of appreciation to recognize their continued dedication and support to the association and Little League Baseball and Softball. Prior to the close of the evening, the Board of Directors for the 2010 season were elected by the general membership:

Executive Vice President - Paul "Doc" Williams
Secretary/Treasurer - Bryan Horne
Vice President for Baseball - Kevin Waldrop
Vice President for Softball - Danny Williams
Member at Large - Carroll Mumpower

The first meeting of the 2010 will be October 4th, Sunday, 2:00 at Northeast State Community College. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

ANOTHER D5UA UMPIRE WILLIAMSPORT BOUND!!!!
Congratulations to Roy Smith who has received his world series recommendation at the Little League Baseball Southeast Regional in Ceredo-Kenova, West Virginia. Roy has also been assigned the plate for the Championship game between GA and VA. The game can be seen on ESPN starting at 8:00. Way to go Roy!!!

Danny Williams Receives World Series Recommendation
Just got word from Danny Williams - he has obtained his World Series recommendation - congratulations Danny for your accomplishment. He will be at 1st base in the championship...and had the plate for one of the semi-finals. Way to go Danny!!

Managers / Coaches Tournament Rules and Affadavit Meetings
This year the managers / coaches tournament rules & affadavit reveiw meetings will be held on the following days / times. Each team manager / coaches are required to attend this required meeting. The president will also be required if they are hosting the applicable tournament.

It's been an exciting week for TND5UA as several members have received regional tournament assignments. In addition to John Mashburn who will be umpiring the Little League Baseball World Series, the following members will be representing TND5UA and TN District 5 Little League in regional tournaments:

2008 Annual Dinner Completes another Great Season
The 2008 TND5UA Annual Dinner was held this past week to celebrate another successful season. Doc Williams presented the 2008 Annual Report, which showed it was a great year in terms of training, finances, and tournament participation. Doc also shared his experiences from umpiring in the 2008 Big League Softball World Series in Kalamazoo, Michigan this past August. Phil Winters (District Administrator for TN District 5) also congratulated the association for another great year.
The dinner then moved on the awards portion of the evening. Each member in attendance, as well as each member of the staff, was presented with an individualized Certificate of Recognition.
The evening closed with the election of the Board of Directors for the 2009 Little League Baseball and Softball season. The 2009 Board of Directors were elected as follows by the members present at the annual dinner:

A special thanks goes to Doc Williams for serving as President for the 2008 season. Doc did an outstanding job leading the association and working to continue the tradition of excellence that the Tennessee District 5 Umpire Association is known for.
The 2009 season is right around the corner, so keep an eye out for meeting and training dates that will begin to be announced in the coming weeks. Thanks again for another great season and for your continued support of the Tennessee District 5 Umpire Association, Tennessee District 5 Little League, and Little League Baseball and Softball.
