Welcome to the TN District 5 Umpire Association web page, whose goal is to provide quality umpires and umpiring services to the local leagues, improve umpiring through education & training, promote fair play and good sportsmanship among people in baseball & softball and provide educational training for coaches to ensure a thorough understanding of the rules specific to Little League Baseball & Softball.

2009 Umpire Schedule
The Umpire Schedule for the remainder of district play and the state tournaments is available.. Once you review your schedule, you must call ( 423-833-8912) or email (trevhayes@comcast.net) me to confirm that their are no conflicts. The UIC for each game is responsible for sending to game results to Roy Smith (rlsmith@hotwater.com).

State Tournament Brackets Set - Revison 1 - 7/7 - 3:45 PM
The 10 & 11 and 11 & 12 Softball State tournament brackets are set. The state tournament for both divisions will be held at Unicoi County Little League, in Erwin Tn. The opening ceremonies will start at 10 AM on July 11th for both divisions. With a picnic starting immediately after (approximately 11 AM). A required mangers / coaches meeting will be held at 11 AM in the Unicoi County board room. First game scheduled to start at 1 PM. The tournament director is Glenn Wright (423-743-5600). If you have any questions contact Glenn, Phil Winters (423-291-2172), or Roy Smith (423-426-4673). Good luck to all the teams!
Phil Winters & Aaron Miller (District Administrator & State Coordinator) agreed a change was required to the brackets - accordingly Revision 1 is now in affect...

2009 Tournament Brackets Updated - 7/9/09
2009 Tournament brackets are updated. Please select the handout below to review brackets. Any questions contact Roy Smith at 426-4673 or email question to rlsmith@hotwater.com. As revisions occur they will be listed in RED. Good luck to all the teams!
6/19/09 - Typo corrected for Zone 2 - 9 & 10 BB - Johnson County 2 will be playing Fairview instead of original posting of Jonesborough 2 (game #2). Correction 9 & 10 BB District will be held in Carter County as drawn on the 14th. Note: The Zone 1 - 9 & 10 BB and Zone 2 - 11 & 12 BB brackets have changed from the drawings conducted on June 14th due to South Holston teams pulling out of the tournament (changes was incorporated with original brackets postings).
6/24 - Revision 1 - 11 & 12 SB District brackets changed - Jonesborough dropped from tournament.
6/25 - Revision 2 - JR District BB - JC Major dropped from tournament.
6/30 - Revision 3 - JR District BB - JC National dropped from tournament.
7/1 - Revision 4 - 11 & 12 District SB - As of now we have only five teams registered for state tournament - if this remains true the top two teams from District 5 will participate - thus championship game will not be played.
7/7 - Revision 5 - SR District BB - Jonesborough dropped from tournament.

It's been an exciting week for TND5UA as several members have received regional tournament assignments. In addition to John Mashburn who will be umpiring the Little League Baseball World Series, the following members will be representing TND5UA and TN District 5 Little League in regional tournaments:
